After being told by my local Chevy dealing I would not be able to schedule an appointment to change my oil for 3 weeks, I decided to change the oil myself at home and you can to.
Thanks Buddy. I appreciate the tip. I was one that added 2 quartz then realized immediately what I had done. So dealer took care of the service and helped me out!
Great video, you answered my question. I'm a new C7 z51 owner and I just checked the oil, the car's been sitting for days and I was like, what the hell there's no oil in it, I just had an oil change a week ago at chevy but now I know.
I have a 2016 too I live in northern Michigan the weather is brutal the car sits in storage for about 6 months a year the oil is changed just before being parked mine does the same thing thanks for the tips
Take not getting your zo6 in for oil change as a blessing and not paying them for that. I’m sure you saved a good buck doing it yourself. Nothing hard about it. Also the have some like tire cradles you can but you Jack car up and slide them under each tire thinking about those for mine. Almost like some ramps but you can’t drive up on them but let’s it sit like 18 inches above ground or something
If you care about your Corvette at all, I would spend the extra few dollars and go with the recommended Oil....Mobile1 full synthetic and a factory or better oil filter... If you have a Dry Sump put about 10 Quarts, if not 7 Quarts....it does't have to be that exact, I literally do it in 10min..
@@70elco28 You’re wrong, Chevrolet recommends using (Mobile1 5W-30 Full Synthetic Oil).. it’s in the User Manual. Just because it has the same viscosity doesn’t mean you could use that oil! Specially on a Z06
Sorry, they have there own fully synthetic oil and that's what I used along with the recommended AC delco oil filter. I always use mobile one on every thing else except on the el camino, it gets royal purple. GM hasn't been using Mobil one on the Z06 for several years. You should probably be a little more informed before commenting. I was a Chevrolet service advisor for 20 years and still have many connections in the business. Believe me when you have a one hundred thousand dollar car, you put the right oil in it. Thanks for watching, I'm sure you learned a few things.
@@70elco28 I don’t understand why you’re being combative when I’m just stating facts? You just admitted to using mobile1 on everything but the Corvette and in the same breath you’re saying you were a Chevy service advisor for 20 years? That’s comedy! LOL The fact that you mentioned using Royal Purple on anything shows that you know absolutely nothing about oils or cars. Save yourself the embarrassment and never utter Royal Purple in public. I would delete this video if I were you because you’re spreading false information ✌🏼
@@DonGrigorianFishing I wish I was able to take a picture of the oil cap that specifically States exactly what they recommend you put in the car but I've since moved on to a C8 and I haven't even checked the oil on it I just drive the hell out of it.
