C8 and C7 Corvettes! 

And this is what I’m here for. Fun, interesting and informative. Since you asked, yes, please on auto cross. I plan to take my Eray to such events next summer. I’d love to arrive with a better understanding of what to expect. Welcome back!

Thanks for the update. Good to see you are hanging onto the C7 GS. We are definitely alike in prioritizing fun over anything else. Do be careful on those bikes.. I'm a former rider who still loves them, but will never share the road with cars again. Off-road or track for me. Cute couple.. glad you are having fun together. Cheers!

Fred, Welcome back, well as luck would have it my Z-06 will be built starting Monday. We are excited, started out at 558 a couple years ago. Good luck, keep your spot. As you said its probably at least a year or so away! Enjoy your C-7. I sold my C-6 Callaway, my C-5 Pace Car for this super car. Can't wait to drive it! Save the Wave... Bob Stanton

FRED!!!! SO GREAT TO SEE YOU ON RU-vid!!! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying your activities and that you and the wife are able to do fun things together. So you’re 40. It’s just a number. I’ll be 69 in a few months and still hanging in there. I’m enjoying the C8 and still hopeful of obtaining a ZO6. As of this past Monday, I’m at 1093 at MacMulkin and #2 at my local dealership for the ZO6. When News broke recently about the Zr1 coming out, I called my local dealership and asked if they had any information about it and if they had anyone asking to be on “The List”? I was informed I was the first person to contact the dealership and therefore I asked to be placed on their contact list. So, if they receive an allocation (A REAL LONG SHOT) I’m to be first in line to have the opportunity to get the allocation. WOW, then, if I’m still alive and in somewhat good health, I will need to decide if I want to get into a “Rather Expensive Vehicle”!!! Back in 2019, that’s when I began facing my illness and having the operation and beginning treatment. I had other things on my mind, rather than thinking about cars. I missed the opportunity to then look at a 2019 C7 Zr1. But, Years later hearing about how great that model was, I felt I really missed out on a great car and one that was actually in the thoughts of some, to be a real bargain, even at $120,000. (It’s now worth about double that figure, maybe more to some!) So, maybe I will get a ZO6 and then if a Zr1 becomes available, sell or trade the C8 and anything else in the Stable to get a Zr1. If future return on an investment is sort of certain, one can use a well maintained Zr1…. At least I would hope so. Please be careful out there on those bikes! You and your wife. My wife really loves the C8 HTC! 😊 Being somewhat realistic and not so practical, my wife may be giving me a goal and an opportunity to have something to live for while going thru the treatment. September started the 5th year and perhaps I’m lucky to be on the far left “good side” of the Bell Curve! I agree that you shouldn’t give up your spot at MM. You have some wait time to think things through. I also believe you should try to keep at all costs, your C7. You enjoy it so much and if you enjoy going through the gears, the new cars may not feature a Stick Shift option. Hope everything continues to go well for you and we will see you when it fits your schedule. Thanks for your thoughts and inspiration you have given me through some of my difficult days!

Seeing your car around 7:45 in the Vlog seems to cement my thoughts that you have a Great Looking Car that puts Miles of Smiles on your face every time you drive it!!! Bud: you just have to keep that C7. It’s You!!! Maybe the C8 ZO6 is still down the line for you at the right time. Perhaps even the C9 will be a vehicle that will have the Best of the Best in it!!! I sure hope GM keeps the ICE in the lineup with Hypo Electrofication (“More Power”)!!! Sure the Corvette Purests will say no to the electric motors, but there will be little choice in the future thanks to EPA REGULATIONS. Yes, the world is changing and most of us will need to face up to that or be left behind. C9s and the next level of Corvettes are currently in development, Under the Tightest Security possible. (Don’t you agree?) It’s almost a certainty! IMO

Good to see you back, I had given up on you. Nice update. Do what makes you happy… It’s going to be hard to pass on the ZO6. But I admire your position.. auto-crossing is just not for me.. 🤷🏻

Fred - welcome back! You certainly covered a lot of ground. As far as the E-ray goes, I am personally disappointed (I know I am in the minority) in that GM went for additional performance instead of demonstrating the art of the possible in a hybrid Vette (eye toward a fully electric C9). The additional performance gained is wasted in day-to-day driving. How many owners will be stop light demons, canyon (Tail of the Dragon) devils, or drive year round to include in the snow? I see a very small segment of the Vette community sticking with an E-ray long term, especially for the $40 cost over a Stingray and with the same mileage as the Stingray. I have been on an E-ray list for two years, but told my dealer to give my spot to someone else, but to keep me on a potential Grand Sport list (I can hope). Good decision on the Z06 and the garage. Love your new toys too. Can't wait for your next video whenever it is.

C7 FTW!!! To me, it’s the better looking car and the true “last corvette” and it will be extremely hard to give up on a manual for a DCT even though the DCT is faster… I also love my C7 GS M7

Fred, you can get a Z06 at MSRP all over the country today. The flipping market is dead. Trust me I know. Glad your back. I would pass on the Z06 as well knowing what the ERAY looks and performs like. Especially being in a colder climate. I did get to drive a Z06 at Ron Fellows. It is a great car.
