Robert, Thanks for all of the great info. I was told that a number of people that tapped into the mirror had eventually destroyed the use of the side mirrors. Have you heard anything about this? This happened after some period of time, and GM issued a warning on doing this. Thanks again, Kenny

Kenny, Yes, if you get the wiring wrong, you can screw it up. There are just 2 wires to deal with so unless your color blind anyone should be able to do it. Just take your time with the 2 connectors, get the ones that I suggest (the others don't fit well). Too bad GM can't put a simple tap on the outside of the mirror for radar detectors. And I really like having the radar clamped onto the mirror. Here in Florida suction cups don't hold well in the heat. This works perfect.

Nice, neat setup and FREE software that will give you all the info on if anyone is tracking the car, even an airplane from above!!! Does it get any better? I think not!

Hi Robert, are you able to use a sun shade for the windshield with the blendmount installed but no radar detector mounted on it? I’m looking at the blendmount, but have a folding sun shade from GM

Good video for installing the detector. Is there a reason you picked the Valentine detector over other models?

Yes, I had a Valentine 1 and they were giving a trade-in allowance for the new Valentine 1 Gen 2. Read writeups and watched videos and the new Gen 2 was highly rated. Plus the free software pgm works great with my phone.

@@RobertMacCready Ok, I figured it out. Tap into red and black. Another video said go to the open slots which is obviously incorrect.

Actually, this checks for airplanes too. And integrates Waze. I really like it but still learning on the features. A jammer will work with it too.

It’s better to use a radar blocker, but they have to be mounted on the inside of the front and rear bumpers.

@@andreblalock20 That was my next question. I would think front and rear to have good coverage. How long have you been running the blocker? Also, how far does it reach? Would seem to be difficult to find out that answer. But if you've had no tickets for years and years and you drive with a heavy right foot, I'd say it probably works. How bout instant on radar?

@@RobertMacCready blockers do not allow radar detectors to pick up anything. But what it does allows you to slow up and they just think that somethings wrong with their radar laser. When they shoot it at your vehicle, there is no register speed. Is it legal no but many of us on our Ferraris, Corvettes and Lamborghinis have them.
