@@shovelknight14Your argument is correct. But via this video is clearly a base C8 stingray compared to a fully spec'd out ZR1 which is faster in every aspect than the base C8. U add an extra $150,000+ for the C8 Z06 obv you are going to get more performance😂 But thats not the car in the video.
@themadmercury6129 there's nothing to argue they're literally not... the zr1 is faster than both, the z06 maybe because it's a capable track beast but the zr1 is more powerful and faster in straights maybe even in corners who knows the zr1 was never tested to its limits
@markthesoviet7737 C5/C6 are absolutely beautiful cars. I love just about any Corvette; but I will say, modern Corvettes are substantially more expensive. Maybe not when you consider inflation, but that's a whole other issue which could've easily been avoided
@markthesoviet7737 Oh, don't get me wrong, I love c5/C6 models as well. I just firmly believe that the C7 is the best looking/pinnacle Corvette, especially given that it was the last front engined rear wheel drive Corvette. But let's be real, Corvettes (of basically any model) have always been about giving superior or, at a minimum, equivalent performance in comparison to cars costing substantially more money. Almost all Corvettes are marvels of engineering and a fraction of the price of its competitors
@@nicklovely6431 well technically the ZR-1 is still the fastest production Corvette ever made it does 212 mph I think. The C8-Z06 won’t even break 200. I already know what you’re going to say so don’t even bother yes, I know the quarter-mile times and track times but all you said was fastest and you were wrong.
I think he meant to say the LT6 though because he's comparing the top level trims the ZR1 versus the Z06. Because yeah, I was thinking the same thing in the first. No it uses an LT2 but since he's using the top trim c7 I would say use the top trim c8
Agreed, apples to oranges. I would take a Base C8 over a C7, and a C8 Z06 over the C7 ZR1 would be my choice. Love them all but my mid engine C8 dominates all the front engine cars I have ever owned. Unless you really like drifting and donuts C8 is superior.
@@StefBelgium no it hasn’t. I’m a die hard Corvette fan, and I love the C8. The corvette has a legacy, but it also has competition. As a performance car, they have to stay up to date on performance so they can sell over the competition. The corvette was always americas answer to European sports and entry-level supercars, which it still is. Hasn’t lost the “corvette spirit.”
Now remove the hp… I seriously say the manual vs auto. Thats where the difference comes in. In a couple years the new corvette I hope will be affordable; but a manual corvette… thats where the wealth is at
@PERFECTLS3 straight line, track, doesn't matter. Auto will always be faster if a car has a manual mode with paddles that disables auto up and down shifts then there is no comparison it's still faster 99% of newer performance cars do
@@Fatdog223he’s not wrong. They are superior, there’s a reason why nearly all super cars have automatic transmissions along with F1 cars. Ever heard of a double clutch transmission? They shift faster and better than any manual transmission no matter how fast you think you are with your shifts.
The C8 ZR1 has apparently been seen on the Nurburgring earlier around October pretty big wing and looks great so we will see currently for me the C7 ZR1 but when the C8 ZR1 releases I may change my answer
That is a really tough call but I lean towards the C8 here. You can supercharge it or turbo later and boom. I bet it’s not super far off quarter mile times even without but not sure what the C7Z does but the C8 is an awesome platform. Hard to beat that launch and I’m sure the handling is same
You’re out of your mind. The ZR1 is an ACTUAL super car, while the C8 is NOT. You’re choosing a mass produced car that will go down in value over a rare, limited production car that’ll go up in value, and is the overall better car. No matter which way you put it, it makes NO sense to take a C8 over the Zr1.
Btw, it would appear you have the ZR1 mixed up with the Zo6. They are COMPLETELY different car. You are OUT OF YOUR MIND if you think a C8 even comes CLOSE to a ZR1. Do more research on the car.
Don't think so, as any new vette in Canada is on pre order, and there hard to get!!! And in Vancouver we sell the most fancy sports cars here in North America!!! So don't think so!
C8 is more practical for more people, as the Zo6 is over 200k here in Canada, the c8 is just over a hundred k something! But we do make more but our cost of living is more!
@@yessuhyessuh2100 ZR1 has its own set of audience it’s more of a muscle car look. But c8 is more into a league of exotic car look. Have You experienced going around in c8, everyone one wants to talk to You and some of them ask me if it’s a mclaren or ferrari. Even after 4 years , c8 still going more than msrp. I bought my c7 in 2017 at 15k less than msrp but it’s the other way round now.
@@EyehatePersona5 in my opinion, the engine compartment has more room for work, ie turbos or after market air, exhaust ,oil systems, great weight distribution, option for manual, stiffer chasis, I think that's it, those are my reasons why I think it's a better model
That C7 ZR1 was harshly pushing the limits of the front engined platform causing it to not be an optimal configuration regardless the trim whereas the track spec (Z51) base C8 allows you to safely, comfortably, and enjoyably push it to its limits.
The 2019 ZR1 corvette it’s the real legend of all corvettes, it’s like a 2001-2003 terminator cobras, and 2013-2014 Shelby Mustangs are the best looking muscle cars. Despite been old cars, I believe these old better looking muscle cars are worth more then new ones 👍
I still might take a C7 ZR1 Coupe over the new ZR1 especially a manual, a couple of pulleys, and a ported Kong blower, and if you want to mess with the heads a little bit flex fuel sensor you,'ll make the same power as the C8ZR1 and give it a run for its money with the joy of Shifting Gears yourself
You don't need to be funny to make quality content. I watch your videos because they tackle topics I find interesting in a rational manner, and having it be riddled with witty jokes would honestly mess over the vibe. You're one of the few video essayists I can actually tolerate, because everyone else is focused on cramming in humor (which fails half the time) or covering burnt out topics, all while making it as subjective and emotional as possible. Keep doing what you're doing, I thoroughly enjoy your content :)
Correction on the motor that’s not LT six LT six is the flat plain crank normally has spread be at the big 670 hp the basement C8 LT one or LT two it’s the same thing just try some system that made the 490 hp stock or performing exhaust from General Motors Chevrolet. It came with 495 hp.
@@kashlalo POV : you are not a real car guy or a Vette lady like me to know the difference . POV : you never drove any corvette in your real life or even in games to know the 180 N&D differences
@@kashlalo C7 still better for what , for handling ? Sorry C6 Z06 kicks C7 ZR1 ass in handling , in HP per eight ratio C6 ZR1 and C6 Z06 kick C7 ZR1 and new C8 Z06 in that term too , torque ? C6 ZR1 has more actual torque on the rear wheels than C7 ZR1 and C8 Z06 , Top Speed C6 ZR1 scored 220 MPH in 2nd run after its 217 MPH that makes 205 MPH average , meanwhile C7 ZR1 scored 212 MPH on 1st and 190 MPH in 2nd run that makes out around 195 MPH average top speed , tuning ? Well LS engines proved they are better , price ? C6 is much much much waaaaaaaay cheaper than C7s and C8s , iconic and more American looking ? C6 and C5 , C7 and C8 looks like a shitty fkin Ferrari , sounds ? LS sounds waaaaay better than LT especially at 4K RPM of the C6 GS , HP per Dollar ? C6s and C5s are the cheapest to get , what kinda of term you want to compare , I see you don’t know anything about Corvettes at all , as you know , the golden era or the golden age of corvettes was the C6 Gen where and when C6.R was too successful and kicked everyone’s ass especially Porsches and Lambos on Le Mans , but C7.R , oh hell it lost many times .
@@gracestingray c6 zr1 slow i beat my friends in my c7 z06 even my old c8 would beat a c6 from a dig sure the zr1 catches up after a few seconds but still. stay salty im 27 and have through more cars than you could imagine
Of these two specifically, the C7 ZR1. But if that C8 was the Z06 I would take the C8 instead. While the C7 ZR1 is faster, it is also heavier and can’t put down most of its power in a turn. The C8 Z06 on the other hand has the most power produced NA engine ever, screams like a Ferrari, and can carve through a track like a hot knife through butter. As a whole package, I take the C8 Z06
kinda bias to the C7 ZR1 cause I got one with my name in it (not flexing! lol! just a Vette dude with a problem! ha ha) but that C8 Z06 badass. waiting to see the C8ZR1. but we are forgeting about the C6 ZR1 that is awesome too!
Have a great day, God bless, Jesus Christ loves you all, (John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave God One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. )
ZR1 of course... the power are not even close... also the zr1 is the closest to its original corvette platform.. nowadays the corvette is just a cheap supercar
I don’t like all these silly packages. I miss the days when there was a base model and a z06 w better exhaust, power, wheels, and maybe some trim. That seems a lot more worth it than some painted things and a spoiler for the same price.
C7 ZR1 with automatic.I would like a C7 stingray or C7 ZO6 with a automatic transmission.I also like a C2 1964 to 1967 fastback models,C3 1980 to 1982 models.I also like the C5 fastback and C6 fasback models.C6 ZR1 too.I also like the C1 1957 to 1962 Corvette coupes.The C3 1968 to 1971 models.I like the C4 1990 to 1996 models.
The c8 Vette is 6.2L LT2 ENGINE. Not the platplane LT6 found only in the c8 Z06. The reason the LT6 is much more of a hype is because it sounds very much like a Ferrari. The regular c8 does NOT produce the same sounds. LT6 produces 650+ HP naturally aspirated. The new zr1 is the same LT6 with factory twin turbos with 1000+ hp.
