In the film, Cab Calloway and his Orchestra perform Hotcha Razz-Ma-Tazz and 'Long About Midnight at the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York before going to a house party and performing Jitter Bug. My Dad passed away in 1991 at 82 years young. I'm 71 now already. And I still remember him raving to me many times reminiscing about how much he loved dancing to Duke Ellington, the Dorsey Brothers, Count Basie, and especially Cab Calloway at the original Palais Royale in Toronto, Canada in the 1930s before he got married.. Great stuff.

Cab Calloway had that rock n roll swag before rock n roll was even thought of.

Cab could sing. He could dance. He had personality and he had something else that many of today's musical artists lack... class.

Cab Calloway had the IT factor. He had talent, charisma and good looks.

Cab was old school cool. He could sing, dance, act, and rock a snappy suit. He was the man.

Remarkable footage and sounds from a now distant bygone era of American life. Cab was and will remain forever a legendary icon. Now look closely and you'll see an uncredited young and gorgeous Lena Horne towards the end at the Cotton Club who herself would became an American legend and black icon in the second half of the 20th Century. RIP to all these performers.

We've lost so much sophistication, elegance and civilised behaviour since 1935.
