The only one sadness that comes about the building of the REM is the unfortunate discontinuation of the MR-90. I just love these trains, the looks of it, and the sounds they make! :(
A big thank you for this video. I wanted to ride this, but with a weekend frequency of 1 hour I had to change plans. love the motors and the acceleration of this train.
You're very welcome! I'd like to eventually do more of these, provided the operator allows me to. I love the MR90s too. Unique among all of the AMT commuter fleet. The sound it makes it awesome and thanks to electricity, it gets very good acceleration.
Yesterday night, a train composed of multi-level cars and an ALP-45DP locomotive (Dual-power locomotive) was circulating on the Deux-Montagnes line. I was lucky to see it because it passed around 1:00 AM. This certainly means that they will resume testing with the multi-level cars and the electric engines of the dual-power locomotive very soon and finally putting them on duty on the overcrowded Deux-Montagnes line.
That's great news, since I know they began dynamic tests on the Mascouche line last week. I knew the purchase of the Deux-Montagnes line would speed things up with the multi-levels and dual-mode engines.
They accelerate really quickly, as a result of them being fully electric. It's the same principle with electric cars: all torque available from a standing stop.
wow.. amazing.. just discover about this.. despite living in Montreal for so many years, never have to get that train line... (and still not have any plan).. but as I look the google map, I was curious about it! Hopefully the tunnel will get some work to make it safe for many years to come.
I am working on the AMT transit and today was the launch of the ''train de l'est'' starting from mascouche all the way down to gare centrale. You should take a ride !!
I have a question concerning the use of the camera in darkness. How do you manage to capture all the light in the darkness and avoid to have noise in the picture with a Nikon DSLR? Do you use the camera in auto or manual mode?
I use either programmed auto, which is auto for shutter speed and aperture but manual for all other settings (white balance, ISO, etc...), or any of the other manual modes. When it comes to exposure and lack of noise, you need to focus on having correct aperture and shutter speed, as well as a low ISO. The higher the ISO, the more noise typically. Of course, you can make any additional adjustments in programs like Photoshop Camera Raw or Lightroom, provided you shoot in RAW (or .NEF on Nikon).
What I'm curious about is what's gonna happen to the MR-90 models. Will they be transferred to the other AMT (or Exo) lines? Hopefully. I'd love to still see these around
@@BenLomonRail Aww, that's quite sad. I have quite fond childhood memories of those trains from when I lived in Montreal from 2000-2006, the first six years of my life. Let's hope that at least one of the other lines gets electrified in the near future.
Nice video! I asked this on another guy's video but i guess it oesn't hurt to ask here too: Do they still grant requests to view from the front? If so, who should I ask? Thanks in advance!
Anton Dubrau Thank you very much! I'll try to get others in the future... In fact, I have a sort of "reverse cab ride" coming soon, so keep on the lookout! :)
