Second District Dispatcher B.J. Fleming. I remember her well. Her voice brings back many memories. Some crew members didn't care for her. I never had any problems with her. Always fair to me.

This section was in"yard limits". We were following a UP Steel Train and any color other than clear, movement must be immediately reduced to "restricted speed". A speed that requires stopping within half the range of vision short of a train, engine, rail car , stop signal, switch not properly lined etc......

@@stevearnold2304 Tell me about it. Taking trips down memory lane now days is nothing more then a distant trip filled with memories in a better world. I love this stuff.

I miss railroading a lot Evan. I relive it now in a smaller scale. Live steam has always been a passion for me and never in my wildest dreams would I thought that I would have one. Thanks to a dear friend, I now own one. Being able to own one of his locomotives gives me unbelievable joy and now I can pass his dream on to others. John’s legacy and memory will go on as long as this locomotive exists. After I go on to the next life, this little beauty will rest on display at the proper museum where John and my dream will rest for others to enjoy.

Watch as the SP is passing and just after you’ll see a 90 degree underpass that both the SF and SP crossed. That’s the old SN

Thanks for posting this. I was the kid in the black mustang that photographed around Sando / East Antioch back then. I always liked catching the 839 at Antioch dropping off woodchips and then highballing out of there with a couple of U36Cs or C30-7s. I looked through my slides - I don't think that I shot this train. Do you remember Kenny Holmes?
