Shop Duke Evo … bit.ly/DukeEvo The Caberg Duke and Duke II have been insanely popular helmets. The Evo throws some extra nice bits into the blend. Will it capture you? Check out our review…
You'd think so, yes. There's a Tourmax X, which meets ECE 22.06, but no Tourmax Evo (as yet). Thanks for the feedback on the lids. Schuberth E2 review coming soon. Cheers, Tony
If we're talking Duke Evo, my specs are fine once they're in place but I do have to flex the arms to get them into place. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
What percentage of crash testing did the visor mechanism stayed closed? I know in your Duke 2 helmet review it was 90%. Is the Duke Evo equal or better?(or worse!)
That percentage score is part of SHARP and this helmet hasn't been tested for that yet, so I can't say what it would score. On closer inspection, there are big similarities between the Duke Evo chinbar and the one on Caberg's Droid, which scored 100% in the SHARP latch test. Maybe that helps get an idea? Cheers, Tony
Adding in real world feedback from your own road testing is very useful. Pricing at the moment around the £180-190 for plain colours. I bought one only yesterday but oddly compared to my original Duke it feels narrower? There is slight pressure around the temple area, presume the Duke and Duke 2 are both internally the same so have they changed the head shape for the Duke range now with the Evo? Other things worth noting, they've gone from centre visor opening latch on previous models, to side opening on the Evo and on the last closure position the visor twists fully as one side closes and the other side is still open on the first notch? Wether this will loosen up the mechanism after use or stay super stiff I don't know? It is annoying tho. The chin bar is slightly further away to previous Dukes, no longer does your chin push against it, but it is still easy to touch if you jut your chin out just a little.
Thanks for that valuable feedback, which I'm sure will help people who are thinking of making the same step you have. It's possible the internal shape has changed from Duke 2 to Duke Evo as part of 22.06 approval. The EPS is different at the top (there were air circulation channels in the Duke 2, but the X/Evo doesn't have them). I didn't notice the fit being narrower than before, but I've worn a lot of helmets in the meantime so it's possible. I didn't have any issue with the visor twisting on the helmet I reviewed, and I hope yours eases up on that. More room for the chin would seem to be good news as that was a criticism of the Duke/2. Thanks again for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshopThanks for the informative reply! I decided to return the Evo and buy a Duke 2 helmet, there's no pressure on my temples like the Evo, they must have changed the internal shape slightly on the new helmet. 100% happy with the older model, centre visor 'just works' and is easy to move up and down. I'd recommend buyers try both out in the shop and see which suits them better.
Он тише, чем Duke 2? На мой взгляд этот шлем такой же по уровню шума. Спасибо, Тони Translation: Is it quieter than a Duke 2? In my opinion this helmet is the same in terms of noise. Thanks, Tony
