It's weirdness, the chemistry between lures. Not all of it good! Looking forward to seeing the blues again. We release most of them. Even the flounder and Striped bass. Tight lines and God bless and safe travels. I was born and raised and lived most of my days in northern NJ. The last 27 years out between Reading and Lancaster PA. I understand that 2-2&1/2 hour drive theses days! Lol! I'm 62 years old.
Another great video. Where are you coming from? You said a 2 1/2 hour drive. Are you in PA or NY? You got swarmed by those blues. If you're just looking to bend a rod, they are awesome. Be careful with those trebles. Throwing a wonderbread A-salt out there one night for bass and hooked a gator blue. When I went to pull the hook he flipped and buried the center treble deep in my finger. Pretty painful and scary with a set of bluefish teeth snapping right next to my fingers. I managed to pin him with my leg and yank the hook out of his mouth, then out of my finger. If I walk in on blues, I try to just use single hooks. I keep some bluefish candy in my bag. I take flexible copper tube and cut out 4" pieces. Crimp down one side and drill a hole for a split ring and hook. I'll throw some BB's inside and then crimp the other end. Drill a hole and put on a split ring to attach my line. Every time a blue crashes the lure his teeth score the copper and create more reflection. It's been a while since I've been out, but I'm wondering if you and I have crossed paths and just gave the old head nod. I don't socialize much when I'm out there. I go into a zone.
