Cadillac 472 / 500 mods to help intake manifold fitment 

I've used Coppercoat, a spray on copper powder to help seal the valley pan and everything else. It works.

Excellent wisdom, thanks and please keep sharing your knowledge, there are a few of us that appreciate it.

I wouldn't suggest telling people to use a flapper wheel to grind those bosses off. There will be a significant portion of them who will not take the proper precautions, and then coat the exposed areas of the engine interior with grinding dust.
