Cage made a lot of dope shit - MoviesForTheBlind. LeakBros. Weathermen. KnightHawks. ForYourBox. HellsWinter.. etc. He was half dead cause of drugs and he quit. He changed his life and is honest about tho. I think this artist deserves some respect and I hope he stays clean and keeps makin records.
It's obvious Cage is just way more Humble as a person than he was in the past. Therefore for his music, style and life changed. How the fuck some listen to his music & can't tell that!
Cage is from the underground..regardless if you like his new style or not you gotta respect his skills as an MC..this guy was on tracks with Aesop Rock..anyone who can work with Aesop on a track is pretty much a bonified MC imo..cuz Aesop be talkin that crazy shit..
I used to listen to cage and still listen to his old stuff, so his new stuff is way outta touch with me, but I still got respect for this guy. He's genuinely been through alot and I think anyone can see that.I would much rather this guy make music and express himself as he wishes, as that is the most important thing to any artist,People will always hate on him as he's changed his style so drastically,but id rather him be true to himself, then manufacture his whole look as something that aint him
Agreed. If you listen to his albums in order they really do tell a story. He's supposed to have some new shit dropping this year, I can't wait to see where he takes it next. Judging by the demo's he's going back to a style fans of Movies can still feel, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Listen to Outsidaz... that's where Eminem got his style from. And rapping about "dark and twisted stuff" was going on before Cage ever came about... listen to Gravediggaz.
Your talking about shit you know nothing about, The Outsidas didn't collab with eminem until the later 90's like 1998-2000, Cage had this dark lyricism , since 1995 and probably even sooner, Regardless it doesnt matter, cause they both made crazy music

@Alexakajohnjohnson Nope, thats not what "sell out" means. A sell out is somebody who changes their style of music for the financial gain, hence the "sell" part. Cage changed his style because he didn't want to write immature shock value shit about sex and violence anymore but something more meaningful and personal. I like both his older and newer work. Some people might be disappointed that he changed his style but like Cage said,"I dont make music for assholes".

How can you really say that? If all his music stayed the same then we would never move forward in time. Developing and mastering your craft doesn't happen if you stay within your comfort zone.

I'm just wondering where they got the concert footage... I saw cage live in SF when DFM came out. There was only a hand full of people there. He was a tool. Kept insulting everyone in the crowd, got drunk and fucked up every one of his songs... worst performance I've ever seen. But Aesop was there hanging out so it was cool meeting him, he's a rad dude
