I will forever associate this song to the afternoon I drove to the sheriff's office to pick up a copy of the police report pertaining to my brother's death. There was an actual downpour of rain the whole drive and this song came on the radio and indeed I was looking for the answers to my brother's suicide and hoping the police report would help with the answers my sister and I were looking for. My other brother and parents still have no clue that I received a copy of the report. Just my sister knows. Suicide leaves so much to question especially when it is out of one's character, so unexpected no one wanted to believe my brother would do it, some thought murder. All in all after reading the report I know for certain he did commit suicide and it breaks my heart that he was in such a deep state of despair that he did not see a way out, and with the negative stigma attached to depression I'm sure he was too embarrassed to seek help. No one should feel ashamed. Depression is a silent killer and untreated depression is the #1 cause of suicide. My brother's suicide has opened up my eyes to the reality of depression and how severe depression can torment some people and they cannot see the light, only the dark envelopes their whole being. We need to be observant to those we cherish and be there for them and let them know they are not alone and if they need a professionals help that they are not weak and sometimes people need a little assistance to get past the dark days and to not feel ashamed. Talking or writing about my experience actually helps me with the healing process.

literally everyone has an emotional connection to this song, i mean how can't you? it reminds me of the time i first heard it, thinking nothing of it and then listening to it again right after 1 year and it just reminded me of 2018 and the different and weird shit that went down, all those emotions, and the feeling that its over now, like an aftertaste and i kind of feel sad when i think i have no one to share this song with, somebody who has an emotional connection too and would appreciate it as much as i do.

This song, the first time I heard it I was on my way home after my fiancé’s funeral . His brother was driving me and started to play this song . I was so lost and hearing this song it felt like they had followed our entire relationship and made a song. The good, bad and ugly; every word hit hard. Every second felt like a year. We both bursted into tears and at the moment we were being pulled over by the police . They came to the window saw the state of us and let us go . To this day I still do not know why they pulled us over.

I heard this song for the first time at 4 am, recovering from a mental breakdown/panic attack, it was in fact, pouring rain outside. I got no sleep that night, I just played this song on repeat. Now anytime it rains I listen to this song and even though I kind of associate it with that bad moment, the song makes me feel hopeful.

everyone's got something to associate this song to, right? so here's mine. this was my dad's favourite song around the time my parent's got divorced and my mom moved out, and they would either played it after they fought, or it would be playing while they were fighting. And I was young when this was all happening, so my mom had to explain what this all meant, and this is what was playing when she told me that she didn't love my dad anymore. i couldn't listen to this song for years without crying before the first verse. now it's one of my favourite songs, and i've listened to all of cte's music and they are one of my favourite bands. and instead of being sad, my dad hears me playing this on my guitar and he smiles.

It all started last year in October. So we were going to the Pilgrimage Festival. I loved Weezer and going there for them. So my dad said we were going to a band called Cage The Elephant. I said who is that. He said the band that played the opening to Borderlands. I was so exited,but I had no clue want songs they had made. So a week later we went. I thought CTE did good. I had so much fun at Weezer. A Month past i'm going to my cousin's house 3 hours away. This is when it sparked. I was listening to Cage The Elephant. I listened to so many of the songs. I started to listen to CTE everyday. So in December I showed my dad it and we both love it. CTE is my favorite band now.

I don't know if I'll ever be able to listen to this without crying.

The first time I heard this song, (6 years ago?) I woke up to a giant monsoon at 6am in AZ, schools were shut down, a mass flash flood. Radio announced it then played this song. Drove to work, and pushed carts at Walmart for 8 hours on a weekend on New Years Eve (with hardly any staff). Eventually came home with trench foot, and drank and set off fireworks with lots of family (nieces/nephews). Still one of my favorite memories of all time, and brings me back to the day everytime, driving to work at 6am in a flashflood. I listened to this song multiple times throughout that day. Forever thankful the radio played that song at that exact time. The power of music.

I saw them perform this this year at Shaky Knees music festival. The funny thing is it started pouring rain, and everyone stayed through the entire show, and the band was so surprised and happy that everyone stayed. And I am 17, and in the rain this song meant so much more than it had ever before.
