CAIRO EGYPT | FORGOTTEN ROYAL PALACES - Abdeen, Al Manial, Gayer-Anderson Museum 

Cairo is famous for the Pyramids of Giza but the short lived Monarchy of the 19th Century is overlooked. There are three Royal Palaces at Abdeen Palace (قصر عابدين) near Old Cairo, Prince Mohamed Ali Palace (Al-Manial Palace) قصر الأمير محمد علي بالمنيل, and Manasterly Palaces on Manial Island. As Manasterly was closed for renovations I substituted for Gayer-Anderson Museum (متحف جاير أندرسون), two homes restored by a British Officer and used in the 1977 James Bond Movie - The Spy Who Loved Me.
