I am pretty sure she doesn't use social media at all. (someone with her money would have a social media manager for this) She basically has the mentality of a pro-all star who doesn't focus on anything outside their immediate life. It makes it impossible for the press to bait you when you have no clue what drama they are even talking about. WNBA players need to take notes. If WNBA players start acting more professional, this league will improve and salaries will go way up for everyone. Carry yourself how you want to be treated and paid and then you'll have the opportunity for both. Other leagues figured this out.
Reporter: "I'm desperate for a headline, give me something controversial". CC: "No" Reporter: "Are you sure, I am going to get fired by my company if I don't get some dirt on you. Give me just one headline I can twist?" CC: "No"
@@kaylamendenhall2393he sure did get what he wanted. What an absolute pathetic shitshow this has become. Instead of celebrating these women and growing the game, it’s become yet another divisive platform.
Really appreciate the reporter asking Christie Sides the question about the identity of the team. She finally admits she’s trying to play the same style they played last year, instead of making adjustments after drafting Caitlin. As I mentioned on a prior video… Caitlin likes to play a more fast paced game and get buckets in transition. Sides didn’t mention that all. This is very reminiscent of Steph Curry earlier in his career. He had a very unique skillset and Golden State didn’t start winning championships until they added new pieces, started running different offensive schemes, and built a winning culture around Steph’s style of play. I know rebuilding a team isn’t an overnight process thats why I have extended a lot of grace to Sides, but I sense a coaching change coming if their losing season continues at this pace.
They told Caitlin when they drafted her, they were not going to change her style of play. Basically saying they would build the team around her. They lied to her. They wanted her for the marketing and that's it
@@randyking9489So true and it shows in the product on the court. They have won a few games, but still look disjointed. Caitlin has a unique skillset just like Steph. Hopefully the Fever decide to move in a new direction sooner than later.
To both of the commenters here… I don’t understand why Sides doesn’t call a timeout when the team looks lost. Sometimes they look good and a lot of times they look lost. I’m trying not to blame everything on Sides, but somebody needs to get the team to work together. And When Caitlin is double and triple teamed, somebody is going to be open. Where are the plays for that? I get so frustrated watching sometimes. I want so much for them to do better. I can’t wait for Temi to come back. She and Caitlin seemed to be on the same page. I think Caitlin also works well with Boston, but the other teams know that so they are on her too. Ok, I’ll stop, lol. I think as a whole they are better than they look. They just need better guidance.
Sides is so far in over her head. Not media savvy at all and absolutely not suited for the coaching/mentoring task at hand. I was willing to give her a chance but I am over it after the last game and this interview. She has no idea what to say or how to say it. I can’t imagine it’s any different in the locker room. Even if the players aren’t the right mix, they deserve better.
Hands-down, the best interview I’ve ever heard with CC. everyone else asked the samequestions each week. Thanks for asking a few of the more challenging questions and when you didn’t get the answer, you asked another question on the other hand. Kaytlyn is a born natural leader. I’m a recruiter and God I wish I could place her. 😊

Good responses. Their media guy in background is always relaxed with her answering. She is always so level headed and the whole team roster are all so positive. Lots of pressure and eyes on them too.
Coach sides take the handcuffs off that girl! You got a unique talent, embrace it and push aside your old school fashion of bball. You need to step up right along with the players
I am not convinced she has any idea how to coach her. Or any of them, to be honest. Someone needs to be the adult in the room. You can’t send them out there and tell them to just go hard. These are smart, motivated players. Give them plays to execute. Build chemistry. Do something other than put them down during press conferences. I don’t think they aren’t tough enough to take criticism, it just isn’t appropriate the way she does it. And from what I have seen, not much she does is.
She's too slick for these idiots. The first reporter tried so hard to get her to make a controversial statement. It was a catch 22 (pun intended) if she took a hard position regarding his questions. You could tell she knew exactly what he was trying to do and she was two steps ahead of his muckraking ass. Good job Caitlin!
For us who have been following her a while, you can read her facial expressions that the whole nonsense of the WBNA and its leadership is starting to weigh on her…….choking the joy out of her
The biggest myth of the modern day is that “silence is complicity.” This is simply not true as a blanket statement. For those who are activists or are hyper aware of social issues, I can understand why this is a convenient and even common sense take to them. But objectively, it’s not reality. The idea that those who choose not to speak on an issue are guilty or in agreement by default is truly nonsensical. You are only accountable for that which you do. People are allowed to jump to conclusions about you if they’d like based on their assumptions, but it doesn’t make it anymore true. The perspective that she brings as a competitor and a professional, to me, is very inspiring.
silence is complicity is a marxist construction--you cannot have a revolution without everyone having a social consciousness. Her lack of politics in an activist league is a huge problem for them.
I have to admit I wish she would say something vaguely inspiring and unifying about being appreciative of all the different players of different back grounds and their talent and watching and being a part of the W as it continues to grow - something to disassociate herself from the divisive racially/sexuality charged words and prejudices and/or implicit biases people take on in her name that gets attached to her brand and is just gross ... @@marceybullShe has spoken highly of every player she’s ever been asked about. I don’t think there is a better compliment than an elite player acknowledging your eliteness. This is what she consistently does. Look back at the pregame interview she did a few weeks ago and the response she gave to a question about Angel Reese. Nothing but compliments about her abilities, all the way back to high school. She also mentioned she thought Chennedy was in the front of the pack for the 6th player of the year - after all of the drama that played out on social media.
@@gerolamocardano1565 - I realize that she has done that. That is pretty great ... But still like my idea for all those who need it spelled out for them -- but in a nice way .... (I personally am tired of all the derogatory comments seemingly on her behalf)
We just want to see her play not get into those pettiness. Those who are whining she is not adressing the issue of the fans. Well, did Reese call out her fans of attacking Caitlin? Double standard.
I love this girl in how she answers these stupid questions from these reporters who are trying to bait her. Gosh so much poise for a 22 year old. This is why millions of people love and support her.
Beyond Clark’s mature responses… if coach is going to insist on running this offense through the post, then good grief, does Boston ever need to amp it up!!
Sides has learnt nothing. They are losing games and she wants to keep playing a failed system.Doing the same thing but expecting a different result is called...
She's 4th in the league in assists per game with only 2 persons in the whole league having more total assists. most 3pt field goals made in the league while shooting from deep. 13th in the league in scoring everyone above her except 1 has taken more shots and everyone certainly has played more minutes. She's top 10 in total steals.3rd amongst guards in total rebounds by a hair with those above her playing more minutes. 2nd in total rebounds amongst guards whist being face guarded picked up full court 94ft double teamed triple teamed media attention scrutiny directly of consecutive championship game college runs
Worse fg% on her team of those who have played over minutes per game ! Most turnovers... worse defense in the WNBA ... But I think she will get better 🎉
@@uwinsome Yet she leads her team in steals and only has two less blocks then Boston. She also has 57 defensive rebounds. So, I think you are exaggerating about how bad she is defensively.
CC is way too intelligent to fall into their obvious traps. She is the best speaker with the press in any sport in a long time. She keeps it professional. Never talks smack. Eloquent and intelligent in her speaking. Super humble, and giving respect and props to the keague, her team and Sides even though we all know 99% of the team none if them feserve it. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when she's having a private conversation at the dinner table with her parents!!!
@txhawks she is a special person. The trash pit that is the WNBA doesn't deserve her. Not only is she a generational talent as is being proven even with all the crap going down on her from the commissioner down middle and lower management to coaches and players she has shown nothing but class. She compliments the very haters that are trying to physically hurt her and run her off! They are so stupid they are ruining the one real chance at building a successful company from the dregs of society. But they fear they would lose their bad girl rebel activist images. So much so I think the WNBA will fail within this decade. Such petty people they are throwing away their dreams because they weren't driving the bus down the path of their choosing! RIP WNBA 🪦⚰️
First reporter presumably suggesting all the noise some fans / “defenders” of CC are preventing her from “cultivating” relationships within the league”. Caitlin cultivating relationships with kids and their parents and grandparents, and fans in general. ❤
Yeah, that will really help (NOT) with building a rapport with the league and her teammates - of which she has dreamed of being on her whole life .... Perhaps, at least, not doing that type of stuff during games ... It's funny how her fans love how CC takes the high road but ironically won't take her cues ... signed an Iowa native/grad and now newbie Fever fan.
When Caitlin was asked by the reporter about being benched, what she really wanted to say was "Fire the Beotche!" Caitlin always plays as hard as she can. No excuse for saying you benched her because of EFFORT and you leave Boston in. Will not be surprised if Fans Boo her tonight
Sides needs to be replaced. She insists on trying to make last year's offense with Caitlin. She just admitted she is using last year's offense this year which now makes so much sense on why it's so bad. It also makes since why Cailin brings ball up, passes it to one of the 3 (Kelsey, Boston, Wheeler and Smith) and then never see ball back again as they run last year's offense.
A good coach designs an offense based of the skill sets of the players she has. She doesn’t try to change all of her players to a system that the coach likes.. sides is showing her insecurity
Am I one to assume that Clark highlighted the coach towards that question about accountability? I hope this is the truth and that coach actually takes some blame for once in her life. She's been underperforming every single night: Wallace vs Bonner was just the absolute worst matchup to start a game. I bet we'll see some more awful coaching issues tonight.
Yes, absolutely. Also Sides said she watched film with them and could see what they were talking about. They were getting hard fouled and she did not back them up with the refs. That kills morale during and after the game. Accountability to all not it’s your problem fix it. I support the players. I’m done with the coach.
@@windi6 This coach has never had any adjustments after a game plan fails--which literally always seems to fail. I've seen them get blown out nearly every single first quarter except like two to three times. Sides never really changed much except that one time that she had Smith benched to win the LA game--even though Clark basically had to shoot daggers to win that game. Every other "change" she made was just adding Hull into the game to defend the best player--which is dumb since she should do that to start off with as Wallace cannot defend anybody. I hate the coach, but the GM won't fire her at all.
Caitlin Clark is a remarkable young lady on so many levels. The pressures and demands made on her on a daily basis are staggering. On another note, I feel if she’d been selected for the Olympic team, her popularity might have exceeded that of all the other 11 teammates combined. I wish her all the best.
It's one thing to have shootouts like this. Have scrimmage games that players can play real games in practice trying to make the shots against each other. Making shots without a opponent is easy. Making shots against a player defending you is a whole nother level of training. Good luck tonight. GO FEVER
I LOOOVEEE that she just kept saying no to that reporter. MMMMM girl yes! Tell em. People can't phantom someone being able to tune out the extra outside noise that's been too much!
Coach just admitted that her style has not changed from last season to this. With CC on your team the game plan has to change from drawing open shots from post to letting her create and push the ball to create shots every where
The leading teams in the league seem to set very tough moving screens with tough lean in shoulder blocks which are only called sporadically. Why doesn't every team use this technique? Maybe I am wrong about this.
I feel so bad for CC only because at some point she can't keep answering these questions about race like that because I am already seeing people on twitter are upset. She is only 22 years old and for the past two years had the entire world at her shoulders where everyone is rooting her to fail or say something to cancel her.
I don't get why people were freaking out on twitter about coach sides calling out the team for the low effort against the sun. Seemed like the refs were screwing caitlin over (once again) and it took the wind out of her sails, then the rest of the team followed suit and accepted an L in the first quarter. Sides was totally right about the effort that night and I'm not a fan of her coaching!
Not really ... It was only and eight point game with three minutes left in the first half -- but ended the half with a 20 point lead - I feel like we are losing games 3rd Q -- and once in awhile (like three times) we've pulled out a win in the 4th.
Sad, she said she needs to get her teammates to trust her, as if she’s dah problem! Please wear your “Free Caitlin Clark!” t shirt at every WNBA game and spread the message!
Yeah, that will really help (NOT) with building a rapport with the league and her teammates - of which she has dreamed of being on her whole life .... Perhaps, at least, not doing that type of stuff during games ... Playing as they did last year is the problem. Didn’t they win 6 games last year? Is it appropriate that they play the same? CC is getting doubled and tripled, my math says that gives you a four on three and two, how is that working for you with Mitchell and Wheeler?
People need to calm down in the comments. It’s going to take the team and Caitlin an off season to get things corrected for the long term. This team has barely had any practice time, and besides the last game, they are making strides. The personnel on the team probably needs to be changed to cater to Caitlin’s play style, and that just is not going to happen during the season. Caitlin also needs some time in the gym, which she said is her first priority after the season. So, Just enjoy the season to see how Caitlin does for her rookie season, and stop trying to overthink everything. Hopefully she plays well tonight!
Please leave politics out of sports and away from Clark. She's a good and wholesome individual. She doesn't deserve to be ruined like every other celeb out there.
The guy asking the same question over and over got what he wanted. More drama. Now Dijonaie Carrington is posting about this on twitter and its blowing up in a bad way. And the reporter is reposting it.
Caitlin is getting messed around from her coach. Trade Caitlin because she is a leader. I want to see her play and not on the bench. This game is messed up.
Get rid of the coach. She has no idea what she’s doing and she wants to continue using the losing strategy of last year. Has she forgotten they were horrible last hear
I only know enough about basketball strategy to think about it myself but certainly not enough to discuss it with anyone else. But it looks to me like Caitlin needs stronger pieces around her. And I’m certainly no authority on this but I don’t think that Sides would make a very good chess player. I only say that because there’s a certain way that pro team coaches are supposed to think and I’m not sure that she has that (just my opinion).
I don’t get the race baiting. If you are a cc fan your a Iowa fan so ur a fan of Gabbie, jada, Hannah. This narrative is tiring. Also that person prob doesn’t like Angel reese and that’s okay. It’s not because she’s black it’s because she acts a fool and is a rival. Same reason people hated Rodman.
Rival...that's cool and good for competition. But to say she acts a fool is nonsense. Reese doesn't act a fool. Reese plays with passion and she literally speaks positivity with with interviews and with her socials.
@@AmourThink79 bro she’s well on her way to be Rodman with her on court antics. It’s what made her famous. Kinda like CCs 40ft quick release made her famous. We aren’t tuning in to watch layups and rebounds mah guy

@@AmourThink79 I agree. As kid in the 80s and 90s we hated Rodman until he played for my Bulls. Angel reminds me so much of him. He’s one of the best to ever do it and I’m sure she will be too.
Questions very unimaginative and obvious asked to draw a headline. I feel sorry for these kids. The media, the league, are going to try to break this fabulous talent and then they can continue with the banger ball. Idiots.
I think she should step back from the media. She should have been with the team during shoot around.. Her shot isn't close to Iowa. Its is flat. Less media and more focus to basketball
He gave he gav her a layup a chance to differentiate her movement frm the race baited movement .! she stand w/ the bs .! must feel lik w/o it she wouldn’t mak it 🤷🏾♂️ either way let the games continue .
Sides is a rookie Head Coach with no playmaking abilities. She is not a right fit for this team. Boston and Caitlin are playing different styles of offense and Sides lack creativity to create plays for them. The single screen is not gonna work all the time. Also Sides is always running the same plays again and again when they didn't work the first time and its never working because its basic and the other team can easily read it.
