ESPN and the networks need to take Swoopes off of calling or commenting on any game with Caitlin Clark. She is HIGHLY TOXIC for both the WNBA and for women's NCAA basketball because of her irrational dislike and jealousy of Clark. Frankly she's an embarrassment to all female professional athlete's.

I'm from Iowa, still live here, not to long ago Carver Hawkeye Arena was giving away tickets to womans basketball just to get people to come watch their games, then Catitlen came on the seen, she filled the stands not only in Carver but also in the opponent's stands. She is a white Christian straight female which is what I believe all this trash talk is about, I actually enjoyed myself watching her play, I don't watch men's basketball anymore because of the stupid over paid players that think they deserve more than what they do. The attack on CC’s record reminds me of the same attacks on Hank Aaron while he chased Babe Ruth’s HR record. People called the attacks racist back then soooooo But what these people don’t understand is that it isn’t her records or playing ability that matters. It’s her ability to get people to watch. The Women’s tournament set records this year. For the first time drew more viewers than the men’s final. But if you take out Iowa games it was just average at best. This is a chance to get people interested in the WNBA. Or they can boo hoo whine and cry and push fans away. It’s their sport they can do what they want.

Not only does Clark have more Talent then other players in the WNBA, She also has a couple things that MOST of them are severely lacking: class and grace.

I met swoopes one time at a red light in Houston. She was very nice and didn't mind talking to a stranger at all.

If anyone wants to claim racism, favoritism, or whatever, then point to the media for all that. They're the ones who choose the ones they want to put at center stage. In the past it was Magic and Bird, and the focus and rivalry the media created between them boosted the entire NBA on the national stage. After them they chose Jordan and used him to boost the league internationally. Now they've chosen CC, and if the WNBA and their players can just get out of the way, or even better, get onboard with the hype, then the medis will use CC to boost the WNBA to levels they've never seen before. You don't have to like how the media works but if you want positive exposure then now is the chance to get as much of that as possible. And give your players some coaching and training in how to speak to the public, and in racism and sexism, and how to present a positive face to the world. The focus on CC and to a lesser extent the others in her class can help fix the public's negative perceptions. CC and those others don't talk like that, and they don't bring that negative vibe. Now's your chance to start over with the public. Don't wreck it, WNBA players!
