The Los Angeles Athletic Club announced that Caitlin Clark of the University of Iowa is the winner of the 2023 John R. Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s as the most outstanding player in women’s college basketball.
A 2022 Wooden Award All American and finalist, Clark becomes the first winner from the University of Iowa. This year, she became the first Division I women’s player to surpass 900 points and 300 assists in the same season. She is tied for the second most career triple doubles, behind Wooden Award winner Sabrina Ionescu (2019 & 2020) and recorded the first 40-point triple double in NCAA Tournament history.
