Clark is 14th in points. Reese is 23rd. Clark is 19th in rebounds. Reese is 1st. Clark is 2nd in assists. Reese is not in the top 50. Clark is 15th in blocks. Reese is 33rd. Clark is 11th in steals. Reese is not in the top 50. Clark is top 20 in all of the leading metrics and will probably lead the league in assists by seasons end. CC is far and away the most complete player in the league. She also leads all players in "Most Points Scored Or Assisted On". Not just rookies, all players, Ionescu is 2nd. ROTY race is being hyped, but the statistics are not even close.

I’m less impressed by some of the other comparisons because The Fever and Sky have almost identical records, and Caitlin is playing almost the entire game and running the offense. We saw Angel take charge in the last game vs The Fever, but the last two games she has seemed more focus on her own record.

@@paddyofurniture4681 I actually thought as far away as she was from it and as much as she sat in the game they were actually like okay last game was a mistake we’re just going to stop the streak now and then in like last 3 minutes she goes 1-10 for 2 points and gets 6 boards off her own misses and a block that technically left her hand. Her shooting percentage beyond 5 feet is like half of what Clark’s is from 30+ feet.

Beyond the Eye test, Caitlin Clark is overwhelmingly in the lead on just stats alone. Kamila Cardosa is better than Angel Reese, she just doens’t have the same media narrative. One is literally running the show and has the ball constantly while the other is just a part of the team. Ofc she's less likely to turn the ball over, she barely has the ball in offense. What CC has done for the Fever is unprecedented. She's had little impact on the league. Fever 2023 -4006 av home attendance. 2024- 17000 Aces 2023 -9551 2024-11210.5. Remove the two games they played against the Fever and they still average 11000.Without Caitlin the Fever lose 13000 fans per game

I've never seen anyone move out the way so that she can get a rebound.. even the whole narrative that she only get rebounds from her own misses is a crazy statement. think about it, even if that was true... guess what, her team still has possession of the ball and another opportunity to score/win.. meanwhile, turnovers, I promise you directly contribute to losses. remove half of CC's turnovers, Indiana would be sitting in 4th in WNBA standings. This is why Angel's +/- is way higher than Caitlin's. And belive it or not Mike, I love CC's game and I think she's a phenomenal player but TOs kills your chances of winning, getting your own rebounds does not..

The lowest of the 14 record setting games in 2024 was 700000. That suggests that the average rating for non Fever games hasn't risen

Aces played Caitlin twice this year . In the first game the attendance was 10399. That's 811 below their average this year Game 2 drew 20366. That's 9155.5 above their average. So the CC effect on the Aces amounts to 44 people at best. Wow.

Odds speak louder than words. This is called putting your money where your mouth is. No one really believes Reese is a better player than Clark -- ESPN gave it try to prop AR up, but at the end of the day she's just not sustainable as ROTY. Box scores are fine, but just watch some film of CC and then watch some film of AR. AR is NOT an elite basketball player and CC is. Compare AR to Aja Wilson if you want an apples to apples comparison, AR is not even in the same universe as Wilson.

Dennis Rodman won the rebounding record for 7 years straight. Did he ever win MVP ? Of course not and the reason is clear. He had a single skill and he played with one of the most dynamic players of all time. How is this situation any different ? Or what if CC and AR were on the same team. Do you seriously believe that AR would come out as the ROTY ? CC makes everyone better and AR gets spoon fed double double records.

To confirm, I googled “who votes for rookie of the year in WNBA”, and my recollection was confirmed: Rookie of the year votes are from a panel of sports writers - presumably invited by the WNBA. So, even though I want CC to be ROTY, it seems majority of sports media (and therefore sports writers) appear to favor Reese. In that case, they will vote for Reese to be ROTY. CC has to “win over” the sports writers and get majority of there vote. That is CC’s hurdle to ROTY right now.

You’re not choosing Angel Reese because you think she deserves it, you’re choosing Angel Reese to take ROTY because you don’t believe the panel of broadcasters and sports writers who do the voting for ROTY have the guts to do the right thing. If they know the game of basketball they know it’s Caitlin Clark. If they don’t vote for CC22 it will eat at their collective consciences for years to come. When I start to get upset over this I remind myself that Magic never won ROTY and I don’t think it hurt his legacy. Ben Simmons won it though. And I don’t think it helped his legacy. So in the long run what happens this year in the ROTY race is not going to matter. Their legacy’s will depend on what they do in the next decade.

Here is one way to look at it: You can pick the one who, if you look at a highlight reel of her passing/playmaking/shooting exploits after a little more than half a rookie season, would be equal to or greater than a similar highlight reel of most WNBA players for an entire career. Or, you can pick the one who rebounds well, but who shoots the ball like a toddler trying to shove a square peg into a round hole.

The line movement towards CC tells me one thing. There are not enough AR money betting on her. So the line movement is making it more attractive. They are enticing AR side to jump in. As they jump in the line will shift to AR. Vegas is not worried as much about CC fan money. Individual payouts will be small. If huge sums are put on AR at +1000 it could effect Vegas bottom line negatively. The line would shoot towards AR fairly quickly.

Do you know who the 60 voters are? They say national and local wnba reporters. So big cities like LA, NY,Chi might have a couple of local wnba reporters. So who are local, and are the national from the wnba networks-espn, ion, cbs, abc, prime, nba tv??? The only thing verified there are 60 And by the way betting odds are based where the $$ from regular people goes. So more are thinking CC is winning roty. Vegas and sports books don’t actually care. The bookies are right on. The odds are that high because 10 to one people are betting on CC over Reese. The bookies goals to have the same amount of money and proportion of the odds on each side so they make all the money on the big. They don’t gamble
