"The College Sports Communicators named Clark the 2023-24 Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. The West Des Moines-native carries a 3.64 GPA, while majoring in marketing." Caitlin earned her degree in marketing with the same focus and energy she applies to basketball. Her studies have paid off in her insightful interactions with the press. She basically handles pressers with aplomb and makes sure to acknowledge her team and generally the fans and the WNBA. It's no wonder businesses want her to represent their products.

One thing that really impresses me about CC - and it was definitely this way in the Iowa years as well - when the media asks her 'you' questions, she gives ’we/us’ answers. She is about team first! 👍🏻

Thank you! As a huge CC fan I have been watching lots of analysis and commentary about her game, the unprecedented attention the W is receiving w/ so many making sure to minimize Caitlin to some degree while elevating Reese and others, and the on going hate chatter from the WNBA players, sports media, social media, and mainstream news media. In all of that coverage little, by comparison, discusses the weight & expectation placed on a 22 yr old rookie and no coverage of how media smart Clark actually is! She is always composed, poised, mature, complimentary of her teammates and all players in the W, and hasn’t said 1 unkind word about ANYONE! She is self accountable and self reflective, patient and balanced, and confident without a speck of arrogance! She does NOT involve herself w/ the BS! I have such admiration for this lovely young woman! She is a phenomenal talent! She is unselfish! She LOVES kids! She has a level of sophistication beyond her years! What a great young woman and ambassador for women’s basketball and sports! These things, among others, are why she has a millions strong fan base that SHE bright with her from Iowa to Indiana!

When Coach Bluder was asked to respond, after Coach Staley characterized Bluder's ''bar fight'' statement with the racially loaded "We're not monkeys", Bluder said "There was absolutely no ill intent. I know coaches will take things and spin it to try to motivate their team. I've done that, I'm sure. So be it with that," Bluder said. "I really meant it as a compliment, like you are going to have to fight harder than you've ever fought in your life to get a defensive rebound against this team because they are so good." - There is always a way to diffuse yet add meaning when others try to twist things. Yet another example of how there is a lot to be learned from the examples that Coach Bluder and Caitlin Clark have worked very hard to become.

I applaud your comments and your take on what is happening within the WMBA. I'm a 61 year old male, and a fomer athlete throughout my youth and young adult years. I have followed sports my whole life and tuned into both men and women's sports. What really draws me to watching an athlete perform and then also becoming a fan of that athlete are two things, their performance and their attitude, and Caitlin Clark is one of those athletes. I think we all can agree that we love to watch champions in action, whether it be a team sport or an individual, but what will elevate that individual to a higher level with the fan base is their attitude. My heroes throughout my youth were all athletes, and the greatest athletes of all time to me were the humble ones that took their sport to the highest level. I've never liked a trash talker, or a bitter poor sport. Like our mom's taught us, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, Keep your mouth shut! There's is only one exception that I was ok with on the trash talking and that was Muhammad Ali, and we all know that he did it to get the fans riled up and excited to watch the fight. He was the best at it for sure, and he was a publicity genius. I will be a regular to tune into your channel from now on. Stay humble! God bless! 🇺🇸🥧🗽⚖️

Stopping CC is something of a counterintuitive endeavor. The key is to minimize the impact of her passing because that is when she is most lethal. When she’s scoring, her teammates aren’t. When she’s doubled, somebody is open. Kim Mulkey exploited this when she tasked one player to guard her in the NCAA finals by reminding her that CC will get her points while the other 4 are shut down. Clark can’t score enough to win on her own. Kinda what the Celt’s did early on with MJ… let him score sixty but hold the rest to 20 and collect an easy win.

You are an intelligent woman who has reflected on your life experiences and you don't give excuses, but rather expect accountability from everyone. This is a reflection of your own high character. You’re exactly right about substituting, the bench is where you win games. Coach still don’t have Fagbentle starting. Common let’s go w 3 bigs and 2 sharp shooters. Think about how that will open the inside up, or the outside when the 3 bigs start killing it in the paint. Starting 5 should be CC, Mitchell, Boston, Smith, and Fagbentle. Just do it coach, Fagbentle has earned it and can run w CC.

I agree completely with A'ja Wilson. There is a lot of privilege in this league and in this society. If a man says what has been said towards Caitlin Clark he would be destroyed. NBA Men have stood with Caitlin. But the privilege present and former players of the WNBA can attempt to destroy and innocent 22 year old woman is simply disgraceful. This was what I expected it to be like for Caitlin. Tonight I saw a team that had Caitlin's back. First time. I also saw a team(Sparks) who played CC hard and fair. I did not feel like they hated her. She was the opponent. First time.

Great analysis! To Victim-American Asia Wilson: Serena Williams and Venus Williams were hugely popular among fans of all colors, and they are black. It's about being exceptional at your sport, regardless of skin color. Also, tons of black male athletes draw fans of all colors. If your jealous assertion were true, then black men would also be noticeably suffering, in comparison to white athletes, when it comes to popularity. And I don't see that happening.

We Iowa girls do know how to speak up! 😊 She did give a great answer, and she was well prepared. A’ja Wilson, who is a superb player, is not known for playing the race card. Sue Bird, Brianna Stewart, Diana Tarasi, and a lot of other players have said the same thing in the past about the black women in the WNBA being overlooked. Sue Bird, who up until she retired was considered. the face of the WNBA has said it repeatedly. Not all Black people play the race card repeatedly. I get that there has been a lot of race baiting online. But I’ve honestly seen it from both sides equally.

hold on, relax woman, u might get a heart attackLOL anyway, im so happy for BOSTON, shes just a beautiful teddy bear played like a beast today...and kelcie the speedster, she just blows by defenders for easy layups t ime and time again...and that last two buckets, back to back 3s by CC at the end of the game to seal it was amazingly sweet.

This is an excellent post. CC is beloved across all lines of demarcation. She just has the it factor. A sweet game, she is gracious and positive. Human (with her temper tantrums sometimes). Most of all She is a Gamer…she wants the ball when everything is on the line do or die. People respect that. No one says it but, she’s Larry Byrd like…not in position and stature or greatness (time has to decide that). Everyone respects her and is pulling for her. Small minds and the media love low hanging fruit(race, gender, looks)…in this country, those things matter and do have some part in this, but if she had no game and didn’t present well, nothing else would matter. Film doesn’t lie she scored those 3000+ points and made the passes…she just has that it factor…Tiger Woods has it too…he wasn’t the first black golfer to play in the PGA…you couldn’t knock his game, he was clutch under pressure and he presented well in his time of rising…people hated him too because of small minded low hanging fruit. To be honest, I think the media does more to keep it going that the masses of fans…sad…this country will never learn.❤

It’s a shame that we even have to talk about some of what we’re hearing about CC. Yet she continues to exude class.

The fact is, I have discovered several excellent players in the WNBA because of Clark's exposure. Some of them are better than Clark and now I am a fan of those players as much as I am of Caitlin, if not more. For example, Jackie Young on the Aces.

This is what people have been trying to tell the jealous players! They need to see the big picture!

Adrienne, please comment on the hilarious video of Aces coach Becky H erupting at the media for suggesting racism is in the WNBS. While Becky was interviewed, Aja Wilson stood by Becky and mockingly l laughed that race was involved at all. Thanks

Yes, that was utterly ridiculous. It’s like, did Hammon not know that the player standing next to her was one of the ones pushing the race thing?! And A’ja’s demeanor and bowing over in laughter at Hammon’s Kermit the Frog comment was so unprofessional. Yet she doesn’t get why some people aren’t as marketable as others. SMH!

When Alex Morgan women's soccer star raised, all the soccer players gave her full support to make women's soccer go big. Now they have a successful league. WNBA should have done the same thing as soon as they can. If not, I wish some rich people start another international women's bb league. Let a new league rise and succeed and glow globally.
