Allow me to inform you, the "no one is going to watch" or "their going to lose the audience" comments doesn't work here. Well they don't work period, but they really don't work here. This is the Olympics, and although Catilin may be your world, she's really not known outside the U.S. Plus, other countries will be watching their teams play, so the views will be just fine. Lastly, you win medals by winning games not by views, and Catilin's play is not there yet. I.e., she has lost every time she was on the biggest stage/championship game. The USA is trying to keep their winning streak going.

When we start talking about “she should make the team”, we need to begin with who is being taken off. Chelsea Gray comes to mind but that’s because of injury. If she is healthy she’s one of the best guards in the world and was the 2022 WNBA finals MVP. Unlike the men, the woman’s team really is a fight to get on the team. Why is it so difficult for people to just be straight up and say she's not on the team because she's not good enough to be there. Let's recap, she TURNS THE BALL OVER at a high rate which would most likely cause the team to lose. Her shooting percentage is garbage. She's not physical enough, and the Refs on an International Stage do not give a heck about a Karen American crying/begging for calls, it wouldn't work. Her defense is nonexistence. And lastly, throughout Clark's career, what have she done when being on the biggest stage/in Championship games? LOOOOOOSEEEE...... Catilin is more CONS than Pros, and you don't WIN games or a Medal by how many people watch you/attendance since that is the new Cry from her fanbase. You win games from your actually play and Catilin is NOT it.

What's hard to understand? I'd have watched it since it's the Olympics, and the hype on her. I have zero interest in basketball, let alone woman's basketball as most people do with female basketball. I watched young a LeBron in 04 for the Olympics, and have never watched him in the NBA besides highlights. I don't like the sport, but intrigue got me which would have been the case here with many. It's simple for most, since really nobody watches Woman & people wanted to see her for same reasons as any young hyped player people want to see, curiosity. They had a chance for people to test the water with a known name especially outsiders as Europe. They killed the Golden goose for people interested in her, that would have possibly gotten people interested in the others as well. NBA grew because of the 92 Olympics around the world, especially with Jordan & team U.S.A. being marketed perfectly. This wouldn't have been anything like that, but sure as he'll couldn't have hurt to try since she's the only name most of us heard of. Besides that thing America traded for a terrorist.

ESPN needs to fire Jamele Hill due to her not being unbiased. She obviously supports the status quo. Everything she says is biased. How can not being on the team is good for CC? Christie Brennan is much more unbiased. Asking questions is the job of a journalist. Unlike Jamele who acts like she knows everything and has all the answers. From the start CC was asked, and she said she wanted to be on the team. Olympics is a once in a lifetime honor to be selected and every athlete should be acceptance with whatever role they are given. The fact that this decision is based on things other than the sport itself is in fact waking up a dragon. It's downright stupid as what the old guard status quo represents. If you want Inclusivity you must also be acceptance towards the norm. Don't be DEI if you yourself aren't. Next Olympics, CC should demand that none of these stooges are on the team.

That really sums it all best, people would have been happy if she were playing in the closing minutes of any game at the Olympics when the score is out of reach and she would finish at most with three, four, five or six points. As for the college players, they have a list that's too long of players who could compete in the Olympics from L.S.U.(Flau'jae Johnson) Notre Dame (Hannah Hidalgo) U.C.L.A.(Kiki Rice) U.S.C. (Trojans- Juju Watkins) Connecticut (Paige Bueckers) the mack truck sized player from Iowa State (Audi Crooks) and that's before even getting into South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas team players.

"CC didn't have to play major minutes for that to occur." I would hope that this would be the majority viewpoint, it would require only her playing the closing minutes in the final qtr. of the games already out of reach for the opposing team when Clark would have maybe three, four, five, at most six points in any game during the Olympics, it's just the appearance in a game for any amount of time, like in the final seconds of the April 2024 NCAA final in Cleveland when the coach (Lisa Bluder, unknown at that moment that it was her final game as coach) as a honorary gesture sent the teammate of Clark who wasn't available because of a knee injury earlier in the year and wasn't at full strength to play in any Big Ten tournament or NCAA tournament games, Molly Davis (uniform #1) was able to have her name on the official (scoresheet) box score.
