Cajun Musicians The Savoy Family Band...Cajun music performed by a family from Savoy, Louisiana... near Eunice. From Left to right is brothers Wilson & Joel Savoy, Dad Mark & mom Ann Savoy.
I cycle 17 miles every day, i am plugged in to my phone listening to Savoy-Doucet@Louisiana cajun music every day,its the only addiction i have since i stopped smoking, lets hope they never find a cure.
This is the reason why you want to go down to Louisiana good food and good music. Interesting to know that this type of music was born in the north and evolved in the south to what we get to enjoy today. Awesome!
Cajun music is my hedge against fear and sadness. It brings me to my happy place, where my grandfather Xavier Raymond played the harmonica with his family and friends. Hearing this music brings me back almost 55 years, to when he was happy and loved to make others happy. God Bless my grandfather and Grandmother they may be gone from this Earth but so long as people remember them, they'll never be forgotten.
Yeah he is and good ol Mom is over there being quiet letting her boys get the praise but all the time playing hella rhythm guitar so her boys can shine and loving every minute of it.boy thats some sweet love for ya.God bless a momma.make me wanna hug mine ~Duane Colbert~
It's funny how when you're Cajun, you know when you hear Cajun music... and you naturally like it. I'm a country man who likes his country and Southern rock. I absolutely love the music of my fellow Cajuns, though.
its funny, I met them and they thought they knew me, so nice a tight family, and humble. Mark Savoy the father makes accordians. They arent for fame, just hold cajun music to its roots. Its beatiful.
On my bucket list is to travel to Beaux Bridge and Eunice , La and thereabouts, and try to meet these Cajun musicians and enjoybsome Cajun music, crawfish, boudins, and dancing.
This style of music has in my eyes and ears everything.Speed, precision, time and so on.And it is a way to express how easy life could be.I admire it a lot.
All I can say is God bless the Savoy family. Mom and Dad is soo proud and so am I. I just love how Dad and Mom are pulling for their boys to play good and they certainly didn't let em down. God Bless!!!
I don't know French and live in Lake Charles. I've researched my genealogy, I am still 70% French it seems. The rest of that is 30% English mix. I'm not as mixed as other Americans. Incredible how Acadians have survived as a culture, even though many of us lost our language.
Can't say enough good about this family and their music! Been a fan for years and introduce their music where ever and when ever I can. I dare anyone to listen and keep their feet still. Can't be done!
Love it. I had the immense pleasure of meeting Marc Savoy at his music center in Eunice, Louisiana a couple of weeks ago. Wish I had a chance to meet the rest of his family but time was short.
I wish I had been there to see this! The competition between the violinist on the left, and the accordionist on the right (and the brother (?) in the middle), is something to behold!
Sweeet Culture and GREAT UNIQUE Music and people. . I spent 8 years travelling to LA. From Nl. Canada (Canuck ) BTW Almost everybody from La, has Ancestors in Canada!100-100 ty
I'm from Virginia, but have lots of close friends from south LA and I made a red beans and rice pot and tagged them in it on fb and they were pleased and I made it listening to this song!...well others too :-) Love it!
I just found this kind of music and I'm happy beyond belief:) just makes me smile and tap my fingers, I wish there was a place here in Croatia where I could listen live performance and dance:)
You will have a great time in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lake Charles. Those are great cities where you will find plenty of people who have lifestyles similar to yours. Especially in New Orleans, it's very nice.
