Dr. Robert Thompson has been practicing longevity medicine for over 2 decades in Alaska. His primary testing tool is the Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). He provides clients a detailed interpretation of HTMA results and guides the implementation of specific and individualized nutritional and supplement recommendations based on his extensive experience. His personal modifications of the HTMA recommendations are offered to optimize results.
In this interview with Dr. Thompson, he weaves through the mineral landscape within our bodies and how to balance it.
Here are the highlights:
The two most important things to put in the body everyday are water and minerals
Our bodies are 72% water and 28% minerals in our tissues
We dilute our minerals by drinking too much water, unless you’ve added minerals to your water
According to Thompson, the most important of all minerals is Potassium and 94% of it is inside cell (or should be)
Potassium is required in the cell for it to be hydrated
Potassium is responsible for the DC current in the body, citing Gerald Pollack’s “Gels, Cells and The Engines of Life”
Calcium excess acts like zippers for proteins that prevent them from unfolding properly
Sodium is required to unzip/unofold the proteins and salt restrictions makes things worse
Iodine detoxes bromine, fluoride, and chlorine. Dr Robert recommends 12.5mgs/day of Lugol’s Iodine.
Every hormone uses iodine to activate it
Thyroid hormone requires potassium
Thompson thinks 90% of hypothyroidism is potassium deficiency
Roots are a good source as are watermelon and coconut juices
Iron is implicated in almost all chronic disease because its highly oxidative
Ferritin’s is only produced with a deficiency of whole food Vitamin C
Whole Food C’s purpose is to recycle the used mitochondrial back into the mitochondria FeS clusters
Ascorbic acid is harmful because we lack the enzyme to break it down as well as stripping copper from ceruloplasmin
He warns against frozen fruit and freeze-dried fruit because freezing splits the Vitamin C molecule and creates ascorbic acid
The way you know your source of Vitamin C is good is that your ferritin will go down
Ferritin is a marker for all cause mortality
Viral spike proteins free iron from hemoglobin which then gets absorbed by fibrinogen.
Fibrinogen absorbs this free iron and causes it to coil. At 30% coiling it becomes alpha amyloid, at 40% insoluble beta amyloid and with more coiling becomes prion disease.
Anemia symptoms are caused by copper and whole food vitamin c deficiency

Ouch, tough interview... Conflicting medical advice/thinking is going to be the death of me.

He seems to say he is the only one who figured it out even in his talks from 15 yrs ago and yet he broke his back via osteo? So what's the right answer?

The most important mineral to human psychology is calcium, Not potassium which is important, but not as important as calcium. Once again anyone can look this up in Google and doesn't even need Open AI Chat GPT. Calcium does not zip up proteins. Open AI Chat GPT: "Actually Calcium makes the cell membrane or cell wall more stable and less porous. It makes our skin stronger. "Stability: Calcium ions can influence the stability and folding of certain proteins. For instance, in the endoplasmic reticulum, calcium helps maintain the proper folding and function of chaperone proteins that assist in protein folding." "Calcium binds to specific sites on proteins and induce conformational changes or stabilize certain structures, depending on the protein's function.' This is not based on opinion or a popularity contest, but proven neuroscience. In physics and chemistry once something is true it is true for all eternity since the laws of physics are considered mind independent, objective and unchanging. They always behave the same everywhere in our universe. Our bodies don't care whether or not don't believe we need calcium. Ill health results when we don't get enough calcium.

Quote from Dr. Robert Thompson: "We cant measure iron there is no test. all the blood tests we offer from the labs are fictitious." Not correct. Chat GPT says there is the total iron binding capacity Assesses the blood's capacity to bind iron with transferrin. Transferrin Saturation: Calculates the percentage of transferrin that is saturated with iron. These are serum blood tests which use biochemistry which is molecular chemistry. Quote by Dr. Robert Thompson. "Ascorbic acid is useless. Reference from 1937. Completely out of date. We didn't even have vitamins that long ago. They weren't sold in stores until the 1940.s. Quote by Dr. Robert Thomspon: "Ascorbic acid is harmful to humans because we lack the enzyme to break it down." Open AI Chat GPT says the opposite: "Human Dependency on Vitamin C: Humans, unlike some animals, cannot synthesize vitamin C due to the lack of the enzyme L-gulonolactone oxidase. This is why vitamin C must be obtained through diet or supplements." What surprises me is how Dr. Robert Thompson has taken factual information the purpose of the the enzyme L-gulonolactone oxidase which is why we need ascorbic acid and changed it to support his false opinion that ascorbic acid is harmful to use. Anything taken in too high doses is harmful, a no brainer.

What does he mean "blending" his salads? --as in a blender? like you would a smoothie?
