We put those Luxury Vinyl floors in our house, we did it ourselves just like you are doing. Our floors have now been down 9 years and they hold up well, however it's easy to scratch them when moving large, heavy items especially. I found that scratch cover works to disguise the scratched areas where you can hardly see it. Our house though was under 1000 square feet so you have more to lay than we did. Good job! You can buy those threshold pieces that match your flooring to do the smaller rooms like bedrooms, we laid the floors straight into our master bedroom but installed a threshold piece in the second, smaller bedroom.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, we did manage to put a few scratches on ours as well after our last install...mostly things that were our fault. Dropping a knife, pushing something heavy across the floor like you mentioned, etc.. Great tip with scratch cover!! I will have to look into that.

@@follow.the.whisper our vinyl floors are lighter colored wood with darker streaks in it and we love it. I put rugs on each side of the beds in the bedroom and I have an area rug 8' x 10' under the dining room table so the chairs won't scratch the floors. Also put a smaller round rug in the living room. The scratch cover really does work great, I used a darker color than the floor and after it dried a bit I wiped the excess off and you really can't see the scratches.

Why are you not using a spacer at the end to ensure the 1/4 gap

Great question. We tried spacers and didn't have much luck. They'd pop out when we'd make adjustments, and we wouldn't realize it. Then, we wouldn't have the space we needed. For us, eyeballing worked much better. If spacers work for you, that's definitely the better way to go!

SO durable! We used the same type in a different color in our last home and got four years of use out of them before moving to our current home. Held up wonderfully through large dogs and destructive kids. No complaints so far with the new install!

Been installing this same flooring in my new build. My biggest complaint is the lack of knot variety. In a 100sqft I could have the same very noticeable knot show 6-8 times. Even if the pattern is printed on the board flipped or slightly slid in one direction or the other, it’s still a noticeable repeat.

Absolutely agree. We used a different color variation in our last renovation, and the repeat was not nearly as noticeable. I will say that after getting our furniture and decor in place, it's far less of a concern. I hope you find the same! Thanks for sharing.

We worked with a Cali rep directly instead of purchasing through a third party, and we were able to talk to price down significantly. We paid less than $3.75/sq ft.

@@royjohnson9043 Yep, sure did! We had 3 pallets this time for 2,000 square feet. The shipping company called us directly to schedule delivery straight into our garage.
