I know this is old but thanks for this info. You'd think the purchased mat would include calibrating information in the instructions but nope! They're like take photo import image and poof. Except not lol.

Christie, I just purchased a PixScan mat, and cannot get my iPhone8 to calibrate. I have Basic Edition and was wondering if I need to upgrade to Designer Edition to use this feature?

Hi Sheryl, you don’t need to upgrade to use the pixscan. Make sure your software is up to date and you might need to restart silhouette and try again. My last iPhone I had a really tough time calibrating as well. I ended up using a real camera instead. I know that is not as convenient. Good luck!

From what I've been finding, your printed paper needs to be the same size as you choose for calibration. So yes, if you choose an A4 calibration size it needs to print on A4 paper. I have mine set to letter size since that is the paper size I have. Also, make sure you are using the correct mat for the correct machine. I hope this helps.

When you take the photo of the test sheet make sure you’re entire screen is filled with the dots. You don’t need the entire page border in the picture. Give that a try.

Do you need to capture all the dots on the calibration sheet?

No, you do not need to capture all the dots as you don't want a border of non-dots on your screen.

@@CraftyChristiesCreations Is it enough to capture just 75% of the dots? I wonder if the reason some people are having difficulty with calibration is that they are trying to include the perimeter dots in their calibration photo.
