Thanks to your video, as well as your pre trip video, I was able to successfully pass my CDL DMV test today!! I'm so happy and proud I want to cry!! I shared your video with my all my class mates in hope they can pull whatever knowledge they need to prepare for their CDL DMV test ( SD, California) I want to personally thank you for your knowledge and skills!! I now have a better outlook for my family and my self. Thank you so much!! God Bless you and your family!! 🙏🏽
Congratulations… 🎈 you set a goal and accomplished it and the feeling is like no other. (Pure joy 🥲 ) I do appreciate you sharing these videos with your fellow classmates, And the comment you left as well . I’m happy I was able to be of help in the beginning of your journey!! Happy trucking
Bro you killed that shit and I wanna be like you when I grow up. All bullshit aside. Great video. God bless you my man. You’ve helped a lot of people. I know that feels good
This video actually helps. I totally forgot about the temperature and oil gauge readings. Forgot about the amount of def tank fuel remaining in the reservoir. 😮
JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS FOR THE VIDEO , I RECEIVED MY CALIFORNIA CLASS A TODAY , AND I FOCUSED ONLY ON YOUR VIDEO , AND YOU GOT ME THROUGH, THANKS MAN.
I want to give a special thanks to the team over at San Jose Trucking School. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and gave me every bit of info that led me to passing my DMV Class A test. I recommend anyone looking to get their commercial driver's license to check them out. Shout out to the home team Richie, John, Dave, and Candy for all the help and motivation along the way. Thank you, Isaiah A
@@Los714 yeah man it’s pretty much the same, the school I went to just worded things a lil differently but overall the same as the video and the same on the test.
A few things have changed since this video for California. I believe they don’t ask for the steering wheel play or the window going up or down. And opening/closing the door. I’m going to school in city of industry. And none of that was in my answer packet. Correct me if I’m wrong. But it changed a little right?
I believe each dmv is different as well as each examiner They all have their own way of examining individuals on the pre trip inspection. But to answer your question yes. They are always changing
Yup every dmv examiner has their own way. Some examiners are very strict and others are chill. I was lucky enough to have a chill one. I am reviewing because I’m going to a new job and they’re requesting I do a pre trip and road test. I should’ve been doing my pre trips since the beginning so I wouldn’t be here needing to review.
There are two ways to check the air brake system for air leaks: Static and Applied Static leak test is checking how much air pressure will drop in one minute without pushing on a service brake pedal And applied which is in the video And compressor test requires the compressor to build a set volume of air within a set amount of time at high idle Yes you are correct
@@Brd372 it can be overwhelming at first glance. I suggest you take it step by step. Break it down into sections 1.seatbelt 2.abs light 3.governor cut out 4.applied air leakage test 5.low air pressure warning devices 6.emergency pop out valves. 7.trailer tractor service break It’s all repetition say it over and over until you grasp it
Yes. That is the proper Name (tractor protection valve) But since they pop out in a emergency We call them just that (emergency pop out valves ) examiners have no problem with it
I took my CDL test yesterday and failed 🥲 i knew i was gonna fail on something stupid and it was. It was over the damn applied air brake test. I was at the part where you start pumping the brakes until the light and buzzer come on. The thing about the truck we used is that it kinda "glitches" for a quick sec when you do it. What i mean by this is that when youre pressing on the brakes and the air pressure is dropping along with the needle. As it's dropping, at one point it'll randomly turn on and off for a quick half a second. It'll do this when it's around 75 psi. But my error was that i didnt count it at that point because it doesnt give you a proper reading. The needle is still dropping. And then the light and buzzer finally stay on at about 60 psi. Thats when i counted it. But the examiner said that wasnt correct 😐
@@classaschoolcali I didn't give the first number when they first came on because like I said they only turned on for half a second before they turned off. I didn't think they would count that
Ok let me say this. (BOTH THE LIGHT AND BUZZER MUST STAY ON)when reading off that number to the examiner The light comes on first, then the buzzer They usually both activate around 60 psi If the buzzer happens to go off while trying to figure out the number, then press the brake again to make it come back on If that makes sense
How about you e mail me and leave your number then I can call you tomorrow if that’s cool. And I can tell you exactly where you went wrong. Cause it’s sounds like what you said is right Classa573@gmail.com
I test in about a month, I know you will start inside inspection first but say you pass the inside but fail the outside inspection and get sent home. When you retest, do you have to take the incab test again?
@classaschoolcali likewise, maybe it's because I drive for the city of los angeles (government) and they're more technical, and kinda have they're own rules...!! On testing. Keep the videos coming.
when you are doing your test in a automatic truck and your are doing the applied air leakaged test, do I leave in in neutral or drive? i saw you put it in low gear.
I have a question about passing the railroad test. When I drive a regular material truck pass the railroad, Do I need to roll down the window to check it?
@@dddrgong9831 I believe the examiner will ask you to roll down your windows throughout the duration of your test But if your windows up for whatever reason, I would roll them down
@@emeraldcrown6332 that would be the safe thing to do. I would ask the examiner if he or she wants you to chalk the wheels from the beginning of your test Do not forget to exit and return to cab with 3 points of contact
For the service brake test, did you hold the service brake as you released the clutch and then rolled or just released, rolled, and then applied? Thank you! CDL driver of 4 years here and getting auto restriction removed and forgot!
If you fan down and not sure if the trailer value popped out, do this - Fan all of the air out of the system. Never touch the trailer valve with your hand. The valve may have popped and you just was not sure. If all of the air is out and the valve is still in, the dash valve needs to be repaired. Not a fail. Only had one student touch and pulled the valve out. I said, “You failed “.
Wanted to add this: if doing the tractor protection valve or dash valve check and one valve popped out and you stop fanning and tell me that complete my air brake test, Yes - you failed. But As the nice DMV tester I am, student will you fan two more times on the brake. The valve should come out. If not, I know we have a dash valve issue and will no longer be a fail.
