Dr pervez has forgotten that Mughal policies had discriminated against majority and sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the first to vouch for seperation of interest of Muslims.. secondly Kashmir is an integral part of India,and Pakistan is usurper, normalisation will not take place unless that is reintegrated with the mainland. Besides, Pakistan promotion of terrorism, and secularisation & democratization of herself are the only way forward.In the meantime no ties is the best way out.
According to Dr Hoodbhoy it was Savarkar and Golwalkar who were the proponents of the theory that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together. If true, has he studied why they thought so? Did any of the Muslim leaders of those times disprove this belief by their behavior in public life or did any Muslim leader atleast pretend to be secular in outlook. Now every Pakistani commentator castigated India for veering towards so called Hindu nationalism whe that country openly practices Radical Islam which is not practiced even in Saudi Arabia or UAE. Hypocrisy and more of it is seen on Pak TV channels. Even Dr Hoodbhoy himself seems to be have an opinion based on what is written in Pakistani media.
Pakistan and India are completely apart when it comes to religious jingoism which is deeply rooted in Pakistanis and it has become instrument of pak state policy.
If visas are given India has experienced the people not going back to Pakistani. It is a big issue. So India is already facing lot of terrorists from across the boarder. Hence it is better not to have any relationship until Pakistani becomes a responsible country.
