Yes! Definitely agree with you. Closest we've come before this is probably the mall in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which I've covered as well, and Dead Rising.
This is something I dearly love about cod, that despite how people often see it as a typical fps game that's drawn out its life time, it's very much clear the people behind the games development care very much about the little details and absolutely making sure they can sell the atmosphere to the player. This game in particular is my favourite because of the 80's aesthetics is spread through quite a few maps (hence the title "Cold War" respectively lol)
Yup! I can't say I've played a ton of other maps, but I couldn't resist spending some time in this one. The little touches really speak to the developers' passion for the era!
Thank you! I still haven't played the single player campaign, but probably will when the game drops in price. I'll probably also take that opportunity to explore the mall again...
Life gets ever more unreal. I am currently reading Ready Player 1 in which 80s nostalgia is run in a near perfect simulation, we can't be too far off that now, the graphics in this are so good I thought at first it was a real mall.
@@DeadMallWalking yeah I got the Ready Player 1 book after seeing the movie trailer and being confused as to what the hell was going on with the Delorean and all that other 80's stuff. What's depressing is the near future dystopia feels utterly plausible...
Thanks! A good idea but I don’t have those games to hand unfortunately. I thought about doing one for Last of Us: Left Behind, but I’m sure there are some others out there I could find.
@@BluePalmetto Ahh, I'm on PS4 unfortunately and I can't get another trial of PS Now (which is how I'd have to get it, I believe). I've got a couple more virtual malls lined up, but maybe after those I will try to grab PS Now for a month or something to play it!
I’ve heard about the Call Of Duty, but why the Mall Of The Pines is like a 80s movie kind. The 80s Mall were like neon brights inside the mall in 80s versus today’s standard mall in the United States(US) and United Kingdom(UK).
I was born in 73 so I lived the entire 80’s, obviously😅, and I can say that yes this is more or less a mall from back then, but more on the fancy side.
Damn, thanks for sharing, Benny! Used to play the original Division back in the day, but I bet it would take some grinding to get all the way through to Coney Island in 2...?
@@DeadMallWalking Honestly, the game hasn’t been that buggy for me. Yes, I don’t know how far through the game it is, but I can tell you it’s in the Pacifica district
More water intake as you record would reduce mouth sounds. It didn't actually bother me, but I did notice it. You do very professional videos, I figured you would want a pointer to elevate your recordings too.
Yeahh, I’ve tried a lot of different stuff to negate that - hot tea, whiskey, lots of water, honey and lemon - but it persists. A sensitive mic and an overbite aren’t a good combination, lol.
