Fire crackles as the ground shakes with the power of a long, deep horn. Lightning flashes revealing horned terrors in the fog. Fire is sent into the sky, raining down on the unknown enemy. No screams were heard and no men fell. Silence took the field and all seemed peaceful. Then again, the ground shook. Lightning erupted once again and the thunder assisted the horn in sinking fear into the knights hearts. Drums beat in an aggressive manner as the horn let out another blast. Men covered in mud, blood and sweat rushed into the battlefield. They were like demons. Taking arrow after arrow and continuing their charge. They were the embodiment of fear. And brought the power of Thor with them.
Trees creak and moan, falling over and smashing into the amber's below. Red flames flicker into life, licking at the wood around them. In the distance, lightning flashes across the sky and thunder shatters the quite of the night. Rain pours down. The fire keeps spreading, a red glow is taking over the void above, a blanket of smoke spreads across the land, shrouding the destruction from all. A deep and menacing horn echos across the land. Suddenly, a blazing ax fly's out of the darkness, impaling the tree next to the lands king. He takes no notice, and signals his archers to return fire. A volley of fire soars into the sky, and enters the fog below. In the split second of light, silhouettes of a thousand Vikings can be seen. Another horn is blown, this time it is louder and longer then the first. The Vikings, armed with axes and swords, start forward. The king draws his sword, a line of swordsmen line up beside him. Their shields create what seems like an impenetrable wall. The Vikings keep inching forward. Just then, a red ball of fire soars over their heads. It crashes into the swordsmen, and the Vikings charge forward.
Thundering footsteps accompanied by cries of "Valhalla!" and other such war cries echo across the burning landscape as the fiersom wariors advance quickly. The king and his army quickly rally after the unexpected fireball, and once more they form a wall of reinforced wood, steel, and brave defenders. The wariors and battle frenzied berserkers slam into the wall of shields like a mighty wave smashing into the unyielding face of an emposing cliff, and battle rages in earnest.
At the height of midnight on the accursed night the horn resounds from the mountains. As the thunder roars a heavy fog sets across the land, the air still and heavy, only disturbed by the growl of thunder and the metallic clank of doors and windows being locked. Then from the darkness of the forest comes the dead, clad in ancient armor and runes, their skin taught and gray. They march and stumble through the land, scraping and clawing as they go. And any soul unfortunate enough to be caught unaware is doomed to join them in their march. Odin has called, the wild hunt has begun.
As the sea is surrounded by a thick fog, a deep sound is raised, that spreads its clouds thin, like a blade. A big, long battleship with its enormous guns rolls through the sea, dominating, imposing fear on anyone that dares to look at the beast. its 24 inch guns turn around as they saw the first enemy frigate. Explosions, shockwaves and seconds later, a direct hit. Three shots were all that was needed to dake down that frigate. Here in front of you stands a beast of the sea, the monster everyone is afraid of and you... Might have one day an honor to command its power.
My orc bard in d&d uses war drums and a war horn for his music. This shall be my song to Invigorate my companions. We shall heed no quarter. May your spears and arrows crash upon the bulwark that is our homeland. Loud is the cries of my people for our freedom will come at the hands of war. War that you brought.
