I’m excited to show my glass calligraphy in detail as I never could before. James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake is discussed among the content. See more of my art at quillskill.com
Such avant-garde works with depth of meaning and story telling. My hope Denis it that these manuscripts live in a collection to be admired for centuries by many. Thank you for the joy, the tears and the education.
Absolutely stunning work Denis, and thank you for such an inspirational and inspiring video. I count myself extremely fortunate to have studied with you and to own a spectacular piece of your layered calligraphy : ’Otter’s Holt’. You continue to astonish and inspire me.
I do want to add my thoughts, but can't really find "words." Watching this, and following your art over the years... it is more of an experience, because I feel that words and language is a sacred and deep part of being human. I am in so much agreement with you that we have lost a lot of the personal and human touch of language in the computer age. I remember all the years of exchanging hand written letters, and knowing so much of another just by looking at the way they formed their words in their cursive style. One can look at history and how hand writing has changed. Now folks are in such a hurry that they don't stop to ponder their writing, and easily use curse words for many of their adjectives and adverbs... as if they can't take the time to listen to another, as well as to their own thoughts. Thank you Denis... your gift is of great value and I highly appreciate it.
It feels like a privilege getting a full explanation of your process, in both the planning and production of these works, thank you! The video production is top notch, totally deserving of many likes and subs, but please do keep including the kitty, and witty titles at the end!
