70lb draw weight, 29” draw length, 445 grain arrow.. 300 fps.. I wanted to make sure I mentioned that! What budget gear are ya’ll interested in? Anyway hope ya enjoyed the video and obviously I’m not Cam but have great respect for him, he’s a G! Have a great week 🤙
As hyper extended as your bow arm is you should really be a 27" or 28" draw length not 29". I cant believe josh hasent forced you to fix that yet boss.
I would like to see a comparison between the Garmin xero A1iPro and the ultraview sight. Tell me WTH ultraview think they can sell a VERY standard sight for over half the price of the greatest sight ever made?!?!
Had the ventum 30 it is a great bow, fast as hell. Then i went and pulled back the VTM34 two seconds later i was swiping my credit card. It's the best bow I've ever touched, went from wanting a phase 4 to buying the VTM and it was a great decision. Love this bow.
You keep getting better and better! Keep At It! 👏🏽 Try not making the same style videos as everyone else. We’d like to see more of what’s it like from a ENTRY LEVEL archer.
I personally like the exact grip on the Hoyt bows I upgraded from my first bow which was a Hoyt Maxxis 31 to a Hoyt Nitrux with a 27 inch draw length and I love it
Hey man, You may have said it in a different video, but I was curious why you switched from the CBE 3v. I was interested to hear more on that sight and any input, maybe any insight on it vs the 2 pin they have that isn’t a dovetail. Love what you do man, straightforward, honest, dependable and humble man 🤙🏼Love watching your channel and hearing your experience!
Vtm 31, easton axis 340, 30" draw 70lbs.. 425 gr @314. Shot through a vow elk quartering toward me at 80 yards with a grim reaper razor tip... pulled the arrow out of the off side rear ham.
I like it for simple mounting purpose.. but yeah I’m sure a lot of people would prefer the flexibility of being able to adjust.. I always keep my hunting bows close to the riser tho
I know it it however everyone prefers. But, it aggravates me to see people use 2 stabilizers on these bows. The new design allows for a shorter stabilizer with equivalent stabilization of a long one. Try a 10” only in the lower hole Timmy!! Keep it up!
Pause it at 2:17. There is a stubby under the main one. Hoyt designed that lower part of the riser to stick out more so you don’t have to use as long of a stabilizer. I.e. 10” vs 15”.
@@archeryelkhunter the stubby is not considered a stabilizer it's for vibration when I was shooting Hoyt I had the vibration thing on the top and I had a 15 inch bar on the bottom
However he wants to do it is fine. However, go back and watch the video about this bows design from Hoyt. They explain it like I did. If it was me, I would shoot a 10-12” AAE Mountain with the Hoyt quick attach go sticks in the bottom hole. Thats my preference.
You or Josh should do a review on the Carter Two Shot- there is little to no information out there on such a great release. IMO it is one of the cleanest breaking wrist straps on the market.
Hoyt defiantly needs a stronger quiver. The top housing busted on mine from a stick chasing bulls this year. Only complaint I’ve had two seasons running the ventum pro also the stock strings as well. Mine looks like trash.
Hey, first of all I like all your videos on all channels! No matter whether you have it, on Podium Archer or on ElkShape. You're a pretty cool guy! And knowing what you are spreading is really awesome! I have to ask a question now. The sunglasses you have, what brand are they? I would like there to be more archery stores in Germany like yours. Unfortunately, most of the things are only available from you in America.
@@TimConnor13 what I've been taught is for every ounce you put on your front bar you need to put 2-3 ounces on the back one. Now that's just a guide line. My reckoning 35 likes 6 in the front 4 in the back.
I like the fact you have a relaxed release hand with the fingers just hanging around. So many FAN OUT the fingers which has to create muscle tension? QUESTION- are you making the shot break or are you truly pulling thru until it breaks. When I use my old quickie plus ( backup) I just can not make myself command a break. I have to pull thru ( while totally focusing down range) or I feel I have failed proper form. And just pulled off the ol’ Gillingham COMMAND. lol Another great video Tim. 👍👍
One of the points of the picatinny rail, moving the weight more towards the center, was completely missed by Ultraview. That sight hangs off the side of the bow even more than "normal" sights do.
whats going on at 6:35?? The arrow disappears...also the moose looks closer than 84 yards...I dont think hes lying or anything, just a weird perspective i guess, idk is it just me?
I believe Hoyt only offered that color on their 2023 line. I know there are some available on eBay for both the VTM 31 and VTM 34. I’ve also seen them available both new and used on other sites as well. I just bought a brand new VTM 31 in the battle worn finish off of eBay.
Im surprised josh hasnt critiqued your dl. If thats 29 your probably 27.5 maybe 28 to get that arrow between your bottom lip and bottom of chin. But if your repeatable the way your set up now thats what matters. Its worth trying out though, you may get some more forgiveness and steadier hold
I’m amazed people hunting actually run long ass stabilizer and back bars. Jesus Christ it’s hunting not punching rings in 3D or target archery. I would shoot a bare bow before hauling a bow to the field with those long ass bars…
Nice video ! Very detailed in the explanations and your set up. I’ve have a Hoyt charger since new it’s 9 years old now and I have the original string on it. And I don’t shoot a whole lot. But. I just try and wax it and take care of the bow. I hope my VTM string doesn’t do this
What pin are you using as your floater on the UV Slider? Also, I pulled the trigger on one and it broke within 5 days…. Waiting on UV to return my email to get it fixed.
Tim, the title of this is pretty misleading, clearly that's Cam's Bow model, but certainly not his set up. Thanks for the great content, congratulations on the buck.
