Are there many others who could be considered better than him? Certainly. Could they beat him out of his starting position? Possibly, but he would be right there competing with possible challengers. Give that man his props for not only surviving, but thriving in an uncertain Washington team, keeping in-mind they didn't treat him very well, and also thriving in a league where players don't stay long. Downstream of the commanders, he's found a decent team that values what he can do as a player and leader in their organization.

I have a truth bomb that needs dropping. Looking at Cousins' career, his overall statistics range in 10-15 highest rated QB in the league. Of the QBs rated ahead of him, all of them are under contract and most of them at a HIGHER salary than Cousins. So, the fact is, Cousins was the best QB available to the Falcons which is why they targeted him. Not only that, the contract Atlanta gave Cousins was his TRUE value, because it was arrived at in competitive bidding. Minnesota did not release Cousins. They would have kept him at a lower salary. Atlanta had to offer more than Minnesota or else he would not have signed with them. No one has to like Cousins. No one has to cheer for him. But the truth is, his play has been good enough to make him a success in the NFL, even though many commentators don't give him the credit he has earned. 2024 will be a great test for Cousins. If he can take Atlanta to the playoffs and win 2 games, he will have proved himself and Atlanta fans will be very happy.
