@@randumbzombie thank you lol. I don’t understand how so many ppl dont know all these labeled “freestyles” are actually pre written verses or free verses. Some rappers actually spit off dome like Lupe on I think it was sway but if you really know hip hop u can tell when it’s a real freestyle
These are the golden years to me. 80s rappers laid the foundation, but the late 90s and early 2000s really changed the game forever. So many genres created in that era it’s crazy.
Horse & Carriage era Cam definitely was pretty technical and more lyrically inclined, he just realized that braggadocio rap was starting to overshadow lyrical rap in popularity by the early 2000s so it was more promising for him and all of Dipset financially and legacy wise.
“4 mill from Def Jam and I ain’t sold a record for them 😳😱” Cam legendary fr 😂 they took the mic from him after that line who ever did that was like that’s enough chill out 😂
Much appreciated, thank you. I'd heard the instrumental years ago on 2Pacs Rap Phenomenon and have been desperate find it since then. That piano riff is soul soothing.
One of greatest rappers of all time. The Dipsets Reign was similar to Mike Tyson short lived but at their peak they dominated the game and ruled with an iron fist. We can't rewrite history and this video is a reminder of truly how great they were all together at their prime. Glad to say I lived in that era.
Damn I remember seeing this live on rap city. I miss these days. I was 14 and these guys where the epitome of cool. All I wanted was to go to school and have that swagger lmao.
Unfortunately we will never see this type shit again… I feel bad if you missed out on this era! IFYKY DipSet dominated early 2Gs. That Source award performance legendary!
Until G Unit took their lunch money! But yea, G Unit v. Dip Set v. D-Block era was fire. If only Biggie and Pun were still alive for that. Pun would have blasted all of them.
He bodied that. This that REAL rap. The cadence, the delivery, some bars, and AUTHENTICITY. I can't listen to rappers who don't or have never lived what they write
Damn I miss 1994-2006 Hip Hop. I have respect for the earlier years too. But I was born in 86, so it wasn't until around 92 when I caught onto things via my brother who is 9 years older than me. I was a Sophmore in hs when this aired. Good times!
I was born in 88 and there will never be another era like this one. Watching this, I could remember exactly where I was at when I first heard it. Time flies man..
@@TheEASTSIDECHICANO My AK (rifle) was my a.k.a. (what I was 'also known as') before my ABCs (the point at which you're learning the alphabet - kindergarten) that had me A-OK (just more 'intense'/slang way of saying "Okay").
Lowkey is the best rapper ever (or Immortal Technique), Soundtrack to the Struggle 1 And 2 are the best albums ever (and Immortal Technique's "3rd World").
Used to watch this show and 106 & park every day after school. Cam'Ron is an all-timer. Slick like method man. Had his own style. Won't be seeing any rappers like this anymore. Glad I got to see them when they were doing it.
Wu-Tang Clan 2000 when Raekwon drops an ill freestyle while sitting on a toilet. Opens with RZA and Mathematics taking turns on the tables. Big Tig nowhere to be found.
Cam selling off Juelz Contract to the Label is the best deal in Hip Hop History! Nobody ever talk about that, he knew his Protege would never fill his shoes and cashed out right on time!!!
