Your very first minnow died very quickly. That shows how quickly minnows die when you go too low on those points on the minnow’s side. If you pierce the minnow above their backbone, they live longer, but they can swim off the hook that way. If you hit their backbone, the minnow dies. If you place the hook too low, the minnow bleeds out internally. I am gonna try to find a quick set wet glue to glue a minnow to a hook and see if they live longer. I am sick of minnows dying during the first cast. Because a dead minnow is not worth your time.

I've always do it that way. Through the lips I'd prolly sling the minnow off. I'm surprised I have caught any crappie in the pond here locally, plenty of bluegill few smaller bass, but no crappie or big bass which is odd it's a 15acre pond. Granted I dont have access the the underwater cover. Shallow water too. 5ft and easy 4ft clarity.

Hmmm. Kinda hard to slow troll with your minnow hooked like that. Makes some sense if using large minnows for bedding or fishing a brush pile for suspended fish.

Both times that you showed that minnow doing the sporadic action that you call it at the end The Minnow would not move so you stop recording and I don't know if it was the same minnow or another minnow and it really doesn't matter because at the end when you first put The Minnow back in the water he was swimming sporadically like you say and it's true but a few seconds later before you said let me hook a minnow through the lip and show you how they swim that Mimmow did the same thing that the first minnow did it stops swimming it's like if the minnow was a weak minnowl maybe it was hot and you didn't have the minnow in cool water or maybe the water there that you were using was hot and therefore diminish the strength of The Minnow because even though he wasn't moving that much towards the end of the video the minnow looked weak and it happened both times that you tried to do your demonstration in the video go back and look at it Mr. Cam I'm not trying to make you look what sound bad but that's what I saw. I've caught more crappie hooking the minnow thru the eyes. The fish tend to hit them head first. Thru the back is a hit and run you almost have to.let them swallow it before a hook set

There's multiple ways to hook a minnow. I literally hook them straight through their bodies and catch crappie all the time.

But don't they die a lot quicker that way?
