Camaro 6 BCM overheat fix

Had some issues at the track with a bunch of random codes and limp mode. Found the BCM in the trunk to be pretty hot. I cooled it off and had no more issues that day. This is a quick simple fix to help cool the BCM in the trunk when tracking in hot weather.

Did this end up fixing it ? Having the same on my 2019 ss where I’m driving goes into stabili and limp mode and get a whole bunch of loss communication codes

It did fix it for that day…also check the harness connector behind the left rear wheel, up behind the fender liner. Sometimes that can be problematic

What codes did you have? I think it would be helpful for reference to say if you get code x then check on this stability control module in the trunk.

I cannot remember them all, but I did have several Stability Control errors, most of them being “lost communication”. I also had several erroneous codes like power window error, fuel pump voltage too high, and several other “lost communication” codes.

How are you liking the DSC controller? Im thinking about buying one. Thoughts on it?

From what I can tell it’s pretty good, definitely a lot stiffer shock settings when in track mode. The beauty of the DSC is the adjustability and fine tuning it can do. Problem is, unless you are getting 95% out of your car already, the adjustment functionality isn’t gonna improve your lap times. I just installed it and I never adjust it. It’s good…can I say it’s better than stock, no. If you’re into tweaking things at the track, then maybe it’s for you.
