I have a 2011 Ford F-150 which has been upgraded and there are a lot of after market changes. However after 5 different Ford dealerships, many just side they could not solve the isuues I indicated with them, even when I explained the possibility of a bad BCM. This video actually reenforces what I've been explainng to these service writers. It also allowed me too write notes which I explained to the last dealerships service writer which got a positive write up for action to diagnoses and reprogram or replace the BCM. Thank you!
If my husband were alive he could also fix this. But I have to rely on the Manufacture . The BCM I need has been discontinued . I asked Ford Dealership can this be removed and remanufactured NO! I contacted Napa they say they have one remanufactured I am hoping this will work. Then I send back the Ford damaged on to get a core refund of $66.00 I just hope the one I received will work? @@jimruell1375
Correct Computer should not be part of the design, I should be able to order auto of all features with out computer! Computer heat cold and poorly made is often design this way to grab income on going never ending.
I have almost certainly this issue it's in warranty but seller trying to void it cause expensive. The key's dont work properly, the lock button neither, and battery drain is insane.
I have a Nissan Xtrail 2014, and my locks do not work with the remote to lock only the 2 front doors will open but not lock, I have to manually lock them, Once My BCM is reset and reprogrammed. Will that fix the issue? Or I need to buy a completely new BCM?
I have a 1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. I bought a used BCM from a 2002 Trans Am, but no dealer will reprogram a BCM older than 10 years of age. I called the local car shops and they all say a dealer has to do the reprogramming. Are there any other options?
Hi Alex. It could be possible to reprogram your 'bird's BCM manually but used BCM modules can be something of a lottery. If you are experienced in working your vehicle or know someone who is, you might be able to make it work without a dealership. However, the used BCM will either require the same key resistance value as your factory model (about a 7% chance, as there were 15 original values). If not, you would need to bypass the VATS, which may require more extensive work than is worthwhile. For reference if you choose this route, here are the steps to put the BCM into program mode: 1. Close all car doors. 2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder - do not turn ignition switch. 3. Press and hold the *door* unlock switch (not the key on remote fob). 4. While holding door lock switch in unlock position, cycle ignition on and then off, three times. 5. Release door unlock switch.You will hear them lock/unlock cycle once, confirming program mode is active. 6. For 15 seconds, press and hold lock and unlock buttons at the same time on one keyless remote. Doors will cycle lock/unlock to confirm first transmitter programming. 7. Repeat step 6 to program up to four transmitters. 8. Turn on ignition switch (which is one more click forward) to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode. 9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation. All for informational purposes only. Please consult a third-party expert if you don't feel comfortable with these steps and cannot get a dealership to assist. Good luck!
I’m having electrical problems, car brake lights stay on when car is on, steering wheel buttons not working, key lock not working nor is the interior lock, is it most likely BCM?

I have 2014 Ram 6.7 diesel ,it shuts off randomly nobody knows why. Well taken are of 650,000 miles runs good. Does a bad BCM make it shut down at random times? Used to start back up right away, now the push button stays off for 5 - 7 minutes then it will start again. Cannot rely on it drives a guy crazy!!
I have 07 Honda crv. The green key keeps flashing on the dash. The code reads the immobilizer is not communicating with the imoes. A can of clear coat blew up under my steering wheel. After 6 lock smiths and three mechanics I got that code givin to me by a lock smith. I was told to replace the multi plex control unit which is the fuse box in the driver side cabin under the wheel. I did so and took the old one part and it was saturated on the motherboard. I’m sure it was fried. My question is is this all different from the bcu? It’s going to cost me $100 each time a lock smith attempts to program my key. Should I replace the bcu and the immobilizer and the antenna before I have it programmed ? Ghis has been 3 months now I’m with out my car. Just put the multi unit in tester. Please advise ASAP. Thank u
I have a 2013 Ssangyong Stavic - Car has automatic locking at 50kmph. However the car will continue trying to lock the doors after they have already locked. And will then unlock as the car slows down. So car is constantly locking/unlocking the doors while driving. The aircon also works intermittently. Sometimes will be really cold, and other times feels like the heater is on with the same aircon setting. - I also have an electric window on the drivers side which is very slow to go back up. Could these all be symptoms of a faulty BCM?

My car HVAC is not working , so the computer tells me that fault codes : ★U 15F0- 00 lost communication with device on lin bus . U15E1-00 lost communication with device on LIN bus . 7:21
Very interesting video and information. My question is, what happens when you can't find a replacement BCM........for example because my Kia Sportage is a 2011 model and Kia no longer produce BCM for my model. Does it mean there are no alternative for BCMs that are no longer available ?? I can't drive my vehicle at nights because I have no lights because of corrosion to the pins/connector of the BCM. Thank you.
Interesting no response to your question. I to am having issues , I did find a replacement hopefully from NAPA however, it would be nice if they would put a number on the BCM!! Both Auto Zone and Napa said to pull the BCM for the number, yeah right doesn't work.
@Tiggy5-dv7xl Yeah got no response. I find it difficult to understand that the vehicle manufacturer themselves are not more forthcoming in this regard. Because my vehicle never had an accident, went in to have my windshield change. It was not sealed properly, so water went in from the top of the windshield, by the time I took stock, it got to the BCM........had to replace the Alternator, not realizing the BCM was compromised.

Try a new battery in your remote first. It's more than likely a "CR2032" 3v button cell battery. If you pry the remote at the seam in the middle of it, it should pop open. It sounds like that could possibly be all you need. Hope that helps.
