Here is a detailed video on me installing an SS Camaro spoiler on my LT model. Please proceed at your own risk if you decide to do the same. If you enjoy the video, please like and subscribe to the channel.
I bought the exact fin from ebay, only black for my Camaro. Using the magnet and ball bearing is a great trick. The center screws were a bit of a challenge because of course I didn't have the ever elusive 10mm short socket, but I made it work. Great video.
Thx for the vid brother. I was apprehensive about drilling into a car I've had for a month. But you made it look easy. Was gonna pay someone then saw your video. It turned out great. Happy I did it myself.
I’m glad you enjoyed it and that it helped you jump into doing it yourself. I think the spoiler is one of the best upgrades that I have done. Enjoy your Camaro!
I just ordered the same Spoiler for my wife's Camaro....I think I too will wait until she's napping. Either she'll wake up and say wow, or wake up and wonder where I went! Great job. I was wondering how difficult it would be to install. I like the "bb" idea.
John Cronk it was not that hard. You just have to be diligent when you are measuring and placing everything. You only get one shot to drill the first hole and everything will fit up based on how well the first hole is placed. Good luck but don’t worry, it’s not that hard.
Ruben, thanks and sorry for the delayed response. I’ve been trying to track the answer down and haven’t been able to find anything. The only marking says “SOLAR PLATE Compliant with... the rest I really can’t read. Its dark enough for me but I bet you could go darker. I have LED’s under my dash and at night with the LED’s on the tint can seem to dark. It usually only bothers me when I’m tired and in that case I just cut the LED’s off. Thanks for watching the video!
Eliut Reyes, I do not but I would google your paint code and you will likely find other names that are used in the industry which is what I did to find the right one. The colors named by GM are what they call them and then there are other industry names more commonly used for them. Good luck! The paint match was spot on, SpoilerandWingKing.com provided me with a beautiful product.
Jamzeh, I got the spoiler from www.spoilerandwingking.com The purchase was done through eBay and their customer service was great. They actually sent me the wrong paint color the first shipment and quickly got the correct one sent out. They are easy to work with. Good luck with your install. It’s not very difficult at all.
