I would say those holes absolutely mattet. It is like electricity....too small a wire and you have resistance... Not enough flow holes ...resistance...hence spike in pressure.
Hi, so when you changed the oil filter the oil pressure worked normal at 40psi? Cause after i changed the engine oil and filter the oil pressure going to 70+ psi !! What is the problem ? need your hepl !! My last oil was 0w40 and now is 5w40 you know cause in the middle east countries the whether is very hot
Motor oil weight outside temperature oil temperature I’m sure has a lot to do with fluctuation a PSI‘s nevertheless 70 psi it should go back down. It shouldn’t stay there for long. My new Shelby GT500 can max out at 100 to 120 psi and runs around 70 psi as normal
Something sketchy. Wonder what that filter paper micron size is? To small, hampers the flow, to big, vice versa. Just curious is all. Differant filter, NOW PROBLEMS, UMMMM. Thanks Mike.
That is very cringy especially a genuine Chevrolet dealership service it’s an auto nation thing and they get away with it I don’t know how nevertheless I wanted it changed out no way in hell I’m buying a no-name brand oil filter now all the vitals on my car Are back to normal no spike in oil psi to the max 80 psi
Hey Mike I have a 2019 camaro ss I bought used with 1500 miles on it. The previous owner changed the oil once. I dont know if he put the 5w 30 or the 0w40. I just got back from the chevy dealership with my first oil change. They put 0w40 in it. Now im noticing my oil pressure gauge goes up high when I floor it. And before I had the oil change it stayed around 40. Do you think it is doing it because of 0w40 or a bad oil filter
Hey there, 🤷🏼♂️ I don’t know why but it does spike up to 80 psi. My mustang was like that too!! Nevertheless I think the American cars are just like this. I would make sure it has the factory OEM OIL FILTER just to be safe thou. 0-40 oil should be fine, bc my 2021 SS1LE 10sp automatic is factory filled with 0-40 from the factory.
@@mikejautosandstuff3349 yes I checked its the ac Delco recommended filter and 0w40 oil. Its insanely odd that the gauge didn't start moving till I had the oil change. It has 8500 miles on it now. And I did get it to hit 80 psi when I floored it as hard as I could
Don’t think a oil filter would make the car have higher oil pressure more like less oil pressure. High oil pressure will be better then no oil pressure. Or very low oil pressure. To me sounds like a faulty gauge or sensor. It’s a GM they have electrical issues big reason I never liked my chevys. All of the Chevys I ever owned had electrical issues.
This is the 3rd oil change. This is the first time with non oem filter. I’ve seen guys run WOT hitting no more than 60 psi. Hell driving a lot FASTER. IVE BEEN PEGGING IT AT MAX 80 PSI!!! I don’t trust a filter that I know nothing about or find information about and the service ppl no help ethier on the specific precision parts filter so I had them change it back to AC Delco PF 64. I’m probably not gonna have my car service at AutoNation anymore
It boggles my mind how a Chevy franchise dealership can do service work on a car that is still under factory warranty and even consider non could use a non-OEM part🤔 It is noted with the service advisor at this particular dealership to use only OEM equipment so there’s no more future confusion and yes the advisor told me this is a standard AutoNation practice when it’s not GM paid for. I didn’t buy my cars from this place nevertheless it is a lot closer to my house

I might consider not using them in the future anymore. I did not buy my cars from them. But it should not matter!! It’s a GM CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. They are close to my house. I don’t know how they get away with THAT???? Being a franchised dealership even though it’s customer paid. Nevertheless if it’s general motors paid for then they have to use AC Delco go figure
