Changing Bad Oil Pressure Sensor On My 5th Gen Camaro SS 

Thank you so much for this video you literally saved me a lot of frustration, time and money. My 2014 SS had the lovely alert of low oil pressure and to shut off engine BUT no engine light or codes present. Dealership replaced oil pump 6 months ago when I first purchased the car. Thought it failed again and for some reason my "double full coverage warranty's" wouldn't cover towing over 15-20 miles despite the dealership telling me it would, so I was going to have to pay even more to get it there or rent a trailer hitch myself. Had my SS towed home and it sat for 2 weeks, it was weird that the car sounded normal when the engine was running which made me think a computer glitch possibly & that's when I finally came across your video. Turned the car on and let it run for a little and warning went off, car is running completely normal with zero warnings! I can't thank you enough bc now I know it's just a bad oil pump sensor

Great video and it helped a bunch changing out the switch. One thing I did that made a HUGE difference was removing the torque bar that goes across the engine bay. It's only 3 #13 bolts on each side and can be removed in under 5 minutes. With that off I had a lot more room to get both hands in use. I'm 6'1" with big hands and before I removed the bar it was near impossible to get to the switch. Anyone that has that bar, be sure to remove it before working on the switch.

Thanks, man! Saved me $$. Getting the connector off was the hardest part. For anyone else about to do this job, I used my cell to wedge in there and get some good pics first so I could see the clip position.

Life saver! Same exact thing happened to my 2013 SS Friday night. It was pulling code P0523. Your video just saved me some time and money. Just swapped the sensor and the gauge kicked back in. Drove up to autozone to clear the code and it cleared itself as I was pulling in their parking lot lol. I would've been pissed if I took this to the dealership and I found out this was all they did and charged me $300+ dollars.

I was thinking of getting the 27mm as others mentioned before I saw your video, but I'm like you. If there's a specific tool for it, I want that tool. Thanks again.

Mines just went out on the way to the gym. Appreciate you uploading this because I saw low oil pressure on my dash and thought “this about to be expensive” I thought the oil pump went out completely, but the car still drives and has normal temps. So I figured it had to be something electrical like the sensor has gone bad lol

Okay I just got brand new lifters , cam , oil pump and new oil pressure sensor about a 2 months ago , when I come to a stop the low oil pressure - stop engine goes on the dash , but when I give it alittle gas it goes turns off ? All other temps are fine..

I had to replace the oil pressure sensor on my 2010 SS recently. Bro when the sensor failed and I saw the gauge read zero my heart literally sank to my stomach lmfao I thought I killed my engine.

Can someone help me out I change the oil Pressure sensor had them Clear out the code so the check engine light will go off. I drove it for about two weeks now the check engine light is back on . I took it to AutoZone I had it put back on the diagnostic machine and it is saying Engine oil pressure sensor Range / Performance . The code it is giving is P0521 what could be the problem now? I have a 2014 SS Camaro?

Hey I'm having problem, I have a 2014 chevy camaro v6 rs oil pressure problem, no engine light, says the pressure is low and tell me to shut my engine off, it don't over heat, just gotta a oil change yesterday, and told them my problem and they said once they are done with the oil change it should go back to normal, but didn't, took it to the shop they saying I need a oil pump and timing set, then gotta another opinion and they said could be a switch 🤕 shop wanted 2143.00, now that ain't fun money, could you please help me out?

How many miles on your car? How dirty was the filter, I'm guessing it could be cleaned and reused if necessary? Good vid bro.

2012 2ss, Fas-102 intake. Not sure if the FAS is slightly different in the back because for the life of me I cannot get the oil pressure sensor socket to sit down on it all the way. Any suggestions?

Didn’t see you do the filter I didn’t even know the switch had a filter. Is it necessary to replace with new switch? I didn’t order one and need my smog done ASAP

My camaro 2015 oil pressure light only comes on when I first start my car and drive off at a high speed then the light shuts off in seconds wtfudge n a loud rattle noise I keep hearing 🙄

so my 2014 camaro ss, the oil psi goes straight to 70 as soon as i turn the car on, does go down or up? oil temp everything else if fine should i change my sensor out?
