In a quick break from the Lemons build, we help out a friend by inserting too many hands into their Opel Corsa's engine bay. The guys tackle a long overdue cambelt change along with a new water pump and tensioner.
Could a bad tensioner cause the car to overheat and not flow properly. I notice a belt wining sound when I start the car. I have ruled out all other possibilities - Head Gasket, Radiator, water pump is 1 years old, pipes are fine no leaks did a flush as well I'm really super lost lol also a 1.4i Corsa b
I could, yes. It’s also not too expensive too replace, but when you’re in there, check the water pump again; sometimes these things go bad rather quickly. Make sure that the system doesn’t have any leaks anywhere. A cooling system needs to be pressurized in order to work effectively.
how many pulleys and tensioners are there, i have the issue where my belt it way to loose and need to tighten it but it seems there might be a pulley or tensioner missing
How did y'all diagnose the water pump? Mine just started moving temp gauge to hot side. Figured thermostat, but just replaced it and no change. So would water pump be next step?
