People that have never heard this song grew up in the sticks. If you lived in a city with more than 10 black people you have to have heard this. It just happen to be the first song off a new record and got no love. One of the best songs to come out by Cameo and should get a lot more respect!
This song just absolutely grooves and slams as hard today as it did back in the day. Cool band and one of the most underrated funk songs ever. Damn this still sounds great!
This was my song back in the day, especially every time they played it at the skating rink. Proud to be a child of the '80's. And whoever keeps hitting the "dislike" buttons on cool songs like this seriously needs to have their behinds kicked.
I'm about as white and nerdy as they come but I LOVE LOVE LOVED this song when I was growing up in the 80s! I mean, who could dis this song? It's got a funky groove that's hard to forget. And the band looks like they are having a blast. Love Cameo!!
Super underrated. Probably the best arrangements in Funk music. There is a lot going on in their music. I think that is why they weren't as popular as they deserved to be.
Kelvin Vaughan This isn't a normal funk groove. There's some complex stuff going on in this song. Larry Blackmon, the lead singer, is the drummer on this and he's killing it on the drums. Underrated drummer.
You’re obviously an idiot and you don’t know skilled musicians when you hear them. This might not be the best composition, but this is highly skilled playing.
I have a love/hate relationship with this song. Cameo was one of my favorite groups growing up and this was my jam, but I had eczema really bad and my brother started calling me Alligator Woman and would sing it whenever I walked past him. :0(

@BattleshipStLouis They didn't play this heavily on the NYC stations. The only song on the Alligator Woman album that I heard on the radio - and only a few times - was "Flirt" Soul Train is how I heard any Cameo music in the 80s until they ironically moved from NYC, set up shop in Atlanta and came up with She's Strange and Single Life.
The one and only RIP to Vanity Ms.Denise Matthews. She should have been in this video in 1982. She would have definitely played into that Alligator Woman part on this video.

Yo Vintage...if it wasn't for "cheesy" song's and video's by groups like Cameo, you definately would not have the video's and song's you're listening to these days! You need to take a look back and understand that YOUR generations music derived from the music of this age and further back!
Most have heard it...It got "no love" because it was'nt "a-Hit" (and rightly-so). That just goes to show you that just because you're a hit-band, does'nt mean that all of your music is a "a-Hit".....get it?!!
