Post-Camino joys? Post-Camino blues? About to do something impulsive? Plans for videos? I discuss these during this walk, and also ask a few questions of you, who've been subscribing or otherwise following my Camino. Thanks so much! The walk goes from my front door and across the flatlands of West Lancashire: a mostly circular walk through Aughton, Halsall and along the canal to Scarisbrick marina. It's the weekend of the Southport Airshow, so a few planes are in evidence, no spoilers as to which! Sun, dragonflies, chicks and Yellowhammers also abound
I'll move this video to a separate playlist when I resume our Camino. I'll post new videos to new playlists too, so please keep an eye out or set up alerts if you'd like to see them!

I watched all your post. I think it is the best. Your video shots were excellent and the audio was very clear. I can hear the birds chirping. All your senses were engaged. I will be doing the camino on Aug. 26 too

Hey Lindsay, have you got "assasins" carrots there ? though is a beautiful place too. Your vlog is the best one Ive ever seen by far - and Ive seen a lot - your narration is like an audio-book itself. Keep writing it. The Camino is waiting for you in any way you want. Buen Camino Lindsay (excuse my english)

Thank you for this kind comment! I’ve never seen a deadly carrot here but then again, I wouldn’t previously have looked for them. Time will tell! Your comment about my narration was lovely to read. I’m glad to know it comes across in that way because it is what I try to do! I will keep writing in one way ir another 🙏

Walking the entire Camino Frances in one go is a different experience, as I've been told, from section walkers. There were times I was too exhausted to speak (I did a 48 K into Burgos). The sweat the toil, the internal dialog, and the pain of my life come out; there's no place to "hide" one's thoughts. All those things that were shoved into the corners of one's mind and covered up come out but when I finished I was humbled, relieved. My heart had been torn open. I can't tell you how many days I cried while walking but in that catharsis, I was healed; my heart sewn back together by the people I met and the spiritual regeneration of finishing. And then I had to come home, to the same vain, egoistic crap from the sleeping minds of the unenlightened. Depressed?!! you bet.

It’s hard isn’t it? I mean, in addition to being wonderful, and incredible, and many other superlatives. I think the experience of doing it in full must be different from my own experience, but I don’t know how much of that comes from the sheer scale of it (our apx 300 miles this time seemed immersive) and how much comes from the idea of a complete narrative. I’ve looked at shorter caminos too, and imagine that people who do those feel that the experience is a complete one… but the scale has to be different. Your experience sounds intense, and difficult but also something I’m sure you treasure. Thanks for sharing it 🙏

@@lindseyhollandwalks The first day and the ascent into O'Cebrerio (sp), the Alto de Perdon (distant relative), were all physically a struggle but the toughest part was mental. Nowhere to run from the dialog, from my own stupidity, from the death and deceit and downright evil that wove itself into my life. It got to a point I HAD to finish; I could not give up and it was the serendipitous events during the camino that kept me going

Hi Lindsey, I’ve been watching all your Camino videos, taking notes of interesting sites and other information that you’ve shared, and I thank you for all of it. I wanted to tell you that I went on the Dirty Girl Gaiters site last night and found out that they are all on sale. I’d be very happy to send you a pair if you would pick out the design you like (I saw a Camino de Santiago design). We could arrange the details via email or text if you would like. I’d be happy to do this for you because your videos have been a great help to me for planning my Camino in April. Let me know. DD

.If you ever consider walking the Appalacian Trail, I live very close to it and you are welcome to use my house as a "base", start or finish. If you reply I'll send you my e-mail and we can converse.

I dream of doing any of the US trails, as you’ve probably gathered! I just don’t yet have a system for carrying enough things for camping (lightweight but larger backpack, ultralight sleeping-bag, and then all the cooking stuff) so can’t test myself to know whether I could do it. I’m considering this at the moment, along with the ‘return to Camino’ idea! Thank you for offering this. It’s really really kind of you.
