With Christmas as inspiration I've come up with Biscuits and Gravy this week.This is something I like to make on Christmas morning. I'm cheating and using canned biscuits but you can make yours from scratch if you would like
I'm new to Cast Iron cooking so you are watching me learn. I made a few mistakes in this video but in the end I ate anyhow.

As I watched this on Christmas Eve 8 am , I found myself running to the fridge checking for ingredients to make this. I had them and started making it. Lots of pepper and salt for me. Another good one. Thanks Bear

I don't think I've ever seen anyone make gravy with the sausage still in the pan, but by golly it worked. Looks delicious!

It's kind of an eye ball it method. If you pull the sausage you can measure the fat to flour mixture. For a true recipe.

I like to add a lot of salt to my gravy and open my biscuits up before I cover them with sausage gravy. Outstanding video as always, sir. Thanks for your cooking vids!

Looks like you made the migration of slinging iron. Great job on the meal combination. You'll start looking for larger ovens and expanding your recipes at a blinding pace also. Go for it! I was a bit intimidated by it. It's not so hard though. You just have to play with your oven a little so you get used to how hot it gets.

Damn !!!! I just had breakfast and you have me hungry for Biscuits and Gravy. Might as well have some Eggs on the side , hate to have a partially empty plate. lol. I would of gone one step further. Split the biscuits in half so I could get more of that gravy on them. Bear , Merry Christmas to You and Your Family.

@@journeyofbear6423 now this my sound a bit weird, I've done it a couple of times. Add chopped hard boiled eggs into your gravy. It is a weird mouth feel, but it is pretty good.

Next time try making the gravy in the dutch oven, plop the biscuits on top then bake. You can do the same with chili and top with cornbread. Saves ya a dish. I love my chipped beef gravy or sos. Not a huge fan of sausage...even though we make our own. I do like italian, brats, smoked, and other dinner sausages. Still wouldn't turn it down though. Have a wonderful holiday Bear. Oh ya! That's what I'm talking about! Who doesn't like a good biscuit and gravy breakfast? Is that Bear Biscuit brand just a SC thing? I've not seen them around these neck of the woods. 😉 I think you and @carolinachrisoutdoors must have gone to the same cooking school. Who's gonna eat all that food? 👍😉😎 I don't think it's too late to add to your Santa list. A #8 CI DO is the perfect size for and outdoorsman. There's also a #5 I believe. Perfect size 1 person. Holds a can of soup, stew or chili.
