Pretty sure he did just mean self belay. You dont 'walk' in the self arrest position.

@@RaphaelFBR Tell me you've never used an ice axe without telling me you have never used an ice axe. The GUY IN THE VIDEO literally replied to me and said "You are correct"! And yes, you do walk in the self-arrest grip very commonly... in fact probably more often than not. The idea is that you have the grip ready to self arrest at any time in the case of a fall/slide.

@@ItMaker5000XL Fair. Half the reply was hidden. But I believe the sentiment of my comment still stands, I dont believe self belay was wrong and thats why your comment stood out to me. You walk with a self belay, holding the axe in a self arrest ready grip. Not that any of this technicality matters but that is why I was surprised by your comment.

@@ItMaker5000XL Just rewatched it and see that I interpreted 'position' as the mode of walking with self belay.
