CAMP NANOWRIMO VLOG | Week 2 | self-doubt + milestones 

You have inspired me to make my writing into a career. I love your vlogs and yes I am new.

Project Death and The Meridian Maps are so interesting to me. Project's Death premise is just the most interesting thing, and I'm genuinely so excited to read anything you've written. I'm rooting for you!

These vlogs are my favorite! Every time I see one I’m just like “YESSSSS!” Project death sounds so cool! One day I hope I can hold a published copy in my hands and reminisce about the time I watched your Camp NaNoWriMo drafting process.

I do the same thing. If my morning isn't productive, I give up on the rest of the day. It's not just you.

Wow! A 43 minute video?! Yay! I love these vlogs!

So I totally used this video as writing motivation lol - I wrote for 30 min and then let myself watch 10 min as a reward, and kept going until I finished the video! Wrote 1500 words so I'd say it was a success! A few more things: 1. So much dog in this video and I love it! Also you talk to your dog in almost the exact same way I talk to mine and it just makes me happy (and I feel less like a crazy person lol). I love that you call him Pupperoni ! My dog's name Cassie and I always call her Casserole haha 2. I totally get the "not getting off to a good start, therefore the day is f*cked" mindset. ESPECIALLY when the night before I'm like, I'm gonna be SO productive tomorrow! (Haha, NOT). I had a really rough week last week, where every little set back felt like this insurmountable obstacle, and it was weirdly such a relief to have a really busy, somewhat stressful day today and still have the energy to get words down! Wooo motivation! 3. Also- CONGRATS on staying ahead for a whole two weeks! I'm so far behind on camp nanowrimo it's not even funny, but instead of "giving up" (aka not entering my word counts into the site anymore because the graph is too depressing lol) I'm gonna keep going and just see how close I can get! 4. TEXAS WEATHER OMG. If you don't like it just wait a minute. Not sure how to end this, but as always I had a great time watching this video (and writing this comment lol). Hope it was entertaining to read :P

I like how i go actively search for the topics of your videos that i need most at certain point of my writing. Like now, totally get the self-doubt part. I have about 25K done only to feel - like you said - disheartened, and then trash 18K of it. the story is simply going into another direction that i don't even enjoy reading it anymore as a reader! Love your videos as usual

Who the hell would leave you hate comments?? What in the world...some people have too much time on their hands and not enough kindness in their hearts. I just found you and I think you're fun and sweet and it's so interesting to watch your processes and see "the life of a writer" in real time. God some people suck, I hope you don't let their nasty comments settle in your brain. Not worth the time or energy.

You are the first author tube channel that I’ve come across beside Katy Tastic, and she to me bridges more booktuber than authortube AND I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH OMG!!! I’m so happy that I found your videos. Yesterday I watched a bunch of your writing like X videos and they inspired me so much I picked up my laptop and wrote like 3000 words in three hours on my current project. Ahh! I so enjoy these blogs! The clip showing your writing in real time vs. time lapse is a breath of relief. It’s so reassuring to know that how easily (or not) the words come in the end doesn’t matter as long as you keep bulldozing through. So inspiring!

i won't lie: i really enjoyed the fact that it was a long video :P i've been binging all of your nanowrimo and camp vlogs the past week! so i'm also part of the new wave :O i jumped into camp nanowrimo late and set myself a super low goal because i've been really struggling with consistently writing. but guess what? your vlogs actually were the push for me to jump back in regardless! i started figuring out my writing habits and what i want to do because your videos gave me so much motivation! thank you for that :D

Oh my gosh I loved how long this was! I'm the same way with my morning sometimes, if it goes bad in the beginning I feel like I can't do my best work but I'm always happy when I push myself to do as much as I can with my writing!

Oh gosh, I'm allergic to the sun. Your sunburn actually scares me 😅 This week we got a lot of snow, so no refreshing spring walks for me yet, sadly. The only tiny thing about write-ins that bothers me (and I fricken love them to pieces) is when you've got a groove going and you don't want to stop your sprint 😂 Never thought to mute the video, but I also get worried when I miss what people say. It's nice to see your idols being human once in a while lol 😉 I'm very curious how long it takes you to get your word count for the day, and how long on average you write in a day total. I'm doing an hourly goal because I need to get better with my time management, I'm still in the planning stages as I write the story so a lot is changing and words would be hard to track, and because I have no point of reference to how many words are reasonable to expect in what time frame. I've never tracked words before, or anything for that matter. I'm much more a "Just DO IT" kinda person lol No milk would be like the apocalypse in my house. It's ALL I drink. Perhaps not the healthiest, but I've never broken a bone or gotten a cavity, so it works for me 🤷🏼‍♀️ Finally, sorry for the long comment, but you asked for it with the long video 😋 Congrats on your progress and on all the new subscribers, though I can't fathom you getting haters. I'm going to just focus on getting in the right mindset and trying to pass my math class for a while because it's a struggle. you're a fan of both the "spurs" teams?? I'm happy to see that Camp is going so well for you. I know that in the past you have really struggled around Day 10, so it's good to see you push through and still be on track. I totally love this long videos! Anyway, to answer to your questions: my second NanoWrimo week was incredibly productive and I finally reached half of my goal (which, for my real first Nano is only 20.000, but I wanted to set a goal I could realisticly reach!). I honestly forgot about camp until day 10 😂 I ended up starting a new project with a goal of 50,000 words and I am now officially less then 100 words from being caught up! I have had some plans for my characters but them seem to be doing whatever they want at this point 🤷

End of week two, hello week three!! ( I am so slowing down with my revising!!)

So glad to have seen the real typing speed xDDD I know, I've actually already seen it, but on the other hand I always get the impression of you typing super-fast and without pause :P Glad I remember now xD I always feel so guilty when I realize about my own typing speed. XD

Since watching your videos I have come to the conclusion that I am a fake caffeine junkie, since I have neglected to optaine an espresso machine yet. Also I find it so frustrating when I lose the tone of a character since the storyline I am working on switches between different character perspectives. Always enjoy watching your videos, make me want to write my story even when it gets hard to write.

My week two wasn't great writing-wise. I decided to spend a couple days with family so I didn't get much writing done which means I fell behind my word count. I doubt I'll be able to catch up. I'll keep going but I have to stop myself from feeling bad about it. I'm toward the end of my second short story and struggling so hard with how to end it. I'm actually really excited to start the next story. I'm excited about the really nice weather we've been getting because it makes the rain so much better when it comes. I'm weird and love rain. I don't watch Game of Thrones. Not my cup of tea. Too violent for me.

I had to stop writing for a whole week because I had tech week for a musical but your videos encouraged me to pick it back up again

Thanks for some great content! I've been writing along, or rather editing my novel, with you and others during live things and it's really helping my lonely a** here in Finland ;) But I'm wondering about one thing... Can anyone tell me if there are authors writing contemporary novels, or poetry, or anything else than YA stuff here on authortube? I can't seem to find any, and YA and fantasy etc is not my thing AT ALL... I mean, it doesn't matter, I'm still inspired and feel like part of a community watching all of you YA authors, but I would love to find more and different stuff also!

I don't mean to sound mean whatsoever, I absolutely love you and your channel but who gives a heck about how many words there are? I always see you in your videos obsessing over how many words there are and how many words you can do but does it really matter? Shouldn't the content of the story matter more than how many words there are? I get measuring how much you've done and a goal to work towards but how many words there are is a super trivial part of it.
