@@socialaccount0000 equal stats isn’t enough. The Nanomachines won’t let Armstrong die and as long as their intact he has infinite stamina. He’d overwhelm The Boss eventually. Plus he kept up with Raiden and Sam for a while despite being at a disadvantage during both encounters
First, remember the Boss of the Saints became a president in the 4th game and “alienated” America. There’s a connection of curropted power. Also in the 4th game, he can super powers such as gliding, super jump, ice and fire blasts, levitation, and others. So this fight has SOME value.
Power suit gives The Boss his powers because of the alien tech. Without it, he's just an unhinged and deranged psychopath with an overinflated ego. Senator Armstrong, however, has nanomachines, son.
I could see armstrong being the smarter fighter while the boss has way more firepower. Its a matter of if the boss can overpower armstrong enough to get the kill in.

Ngl, I want this matchup to start with Armstrong in EXCELSIUS and The Boss in one of his/her mechs. They both break each other's rides, realize they're useless and just fight each other on their own
Honestly, this is probably on par with Funny Valentine for Senator Armstrong's best Death Battle opponent...but this is by far The Boss' best matchup I've seen. These two are so similar yet so different at the same time. They both are brash, boisterous, and downright absurd at times. They're both murderous psychopaths with a love for chaos. Yet Armstrong has a greater purpose behind what he does, even if its one that's almost silly if it wasn't so terrifying. Meanwhile, the Boss does what they do because...they just like chaos snd violence. If anything, they might actually start to buy some of Armstrong's bullshit and agree with his philosophy...but as soon as Armstrong boasts that he could break The President in two? Any chance of allegiance goes straight out the window. As for who wins, my money is on The Boss. They've got a *massive* arsenal of really unique weapons. The dubstep gun, the chum launcher that summons sharks, the inflator, the...purple...bat.
This would be an awesome and insane fight. Assuming The Boss has their end-of-4 powers-in-real-life suit for this fight, I think it goes their way, but even without it The Boss has a LONG track record of going up against folks they should be hideously outclassed against and finding some utterly insane way to win. The Boss is basically a chaos elemental, in all the best ways only a player character should be.
I suppose the angel wings represents The Boss while The Flag of Course represents Armstrong. The way the music points out how chaotic this fight would be.
somehow I imagine a battle royal taking place (as in voters pro Armstrong and Pro Boss attacking each other over who should take the white house as president). Armstrong: Democracy has failed us. Second Armstrong track and it's still not Funny Valentine ? Well I'll be damned. And Saints Row representation is great too, especially The Boss. Y'know, this is one of those matchups that I never knew the existence of but now that I know of it... I kinda get it. It seems like "Dumb Fun™" and I'm all for it, especially since I quite like Saints Row 3/4 and this matchup represents those quite well. And the fact that the battle is legitimately debatable depending on what you buy for both characters makes this even better: it has wonderful interaction potential and it'd be fun to see. But enough about the matchup itself, more about the song. And well, as expected, it's really solid. Given the characters it's very easy to imagine how this fight would start: with the two of them running for President at an official debate while the song plays as atmospheric in the background only for the debate to start getting heated at 0:10 when one of them starts throwing personal insults at the other, the debate turning into an all-out brawl at 0:21 when one of them gets fed up with the other and starts the battle. And the dynamic that follows for the rest of the song is quite appreciable too. It's something that feels very energetic but not overly agressive unless it outright wants to be (IE: 0:53-1:04). It has a distinct feeling of power to it tho which is perfectly fitting to the characters: they have an absolutely overpowering presence to themselves, but they don't really get *extremely* angry against anything. They absolutely won't hesitate to turn your jaws into bone dust but they'll do so nonchalantly and that's truly felt here. At very few points does the track feel extremely agressive but it always carries that feeling of size and power that describes those two perfectly: they're the main attraction and they know it, so they sure as hell aren't going to let someone else try to steal it from them. Another thing I appreciate is how the song doesn't shy away from having breaks (IE: 1:03-1:14) and has quite a lot of them throughout its duration. It both reinforces the characters' personalities I stated earlier but it also makes openings to imagine how the two would converse. Those two are *very* talkative so of course they'd stop fighting regularly to just trashtalk the other, which is why the dynamic of having those various breaks that immediately resume into the regular song makes perfect sense. That's an especially visible dynamic with how the song ends with the final part of it starting at 2:50. At that point, those two have finished talking with one another and are finally going at it seriously with everything they've got and they're dead set on seeing the other guy as a red splatter on the ground if that's the last thing they do. The fact that it takes one of the previously-heard segments but just bumps it up a bit in intensity with faster percussions is once again a great showcase of the characters' personalities. It showcases their aggressivity and how brutal they can get but it also keeps the same "composed" melody that was previously to show how, despite their appearances, they also know how to get serious and when they do, heads roll. It's a really nice climax to the song and the fact that it's followed with "break" segment before it fully stops to end shows how the fight would end between those two: Whoever is the one standing will be mocking their defeated opponent one last time as the aforementioned lays at the winner's feet bloodied and agonizing in a puddle of their own blood, the entire area they were at (probably the Whitehouse for irony's sake) now only being a wrecked wasteland of rubble and fire, before they finally end the loser's life as the proud leader of what's left of their country. It's a really nice conclusion that fits both characters and their universes really well, of course depending on who the winner is it'd be more or less serious and over the top but regardless it'd be a fitting ending. As a final note I'll admit that the way the track is set up makes me wonder if it's gonna get lyrics. Mind you, it's plenty good on its own (in fact, I'd go as far as to say it's great) but it has some trademark signs of to-be vocal tracks and of course it'd totally make sense for that matchup to receive vocals. But if it stays as just instrumental I'd be more than fine with it to be honest given how good it is. Overall this track is one that I knew I'd appreciate as soon as I saw the matchup it features. It's not too often that I find a matchup to be directly beneficial to the track itself but here is a perfect example of that because it allowed for a ton of potential and Brandon exploited most of it in the best of ways possible. It fits the characters, has a clear and fluid dynamic and even if I do suspect it's getting lyrics eventually, it still more than manages to stand out in a really nice way. Amazing job as always with this. PS: I do believe that there's around 40 superfluous seconds at the end of the video that probably weren't added there on purpose, it's not an issue per say but it's interesting to note.
Considering the characters, I'd absolutely think the Boss would start the insults and throw the first blows. And if Armstrong won, he'd use it as part of his campaign, showing how he stands his ground and could be on the front lines if it came to war.
I kind of like how the song's ending is surprisingly soft and sort of patters off. Whoever wins, there's going to be a load of collateral destruction (something I believe both combatants are fine with to an extent).
Oh hell yeah, this would be an absolutely glorious fight to watch! The insane shit of the games would mix weirdly well, I'd imagine. You did great on the song as usual, Brandon! Nice job mixing the metal vibes of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance with the more synth/dubstep-y music of Saints Row IV.

God what a great track. The matchup potential is insane too. Armstrong potentially has 2 of the 3 stats in the triangle on lockdown (Since he's only slightly faster than the Boss and likely more durable with the nanomachines, whereas the Boss can match him in strength.) The issue is that the boss has some insane hax with their powers (they can literally turn people into money, force them to bow down to them, freeze people, set them ablaze, turn them into living bombs, and so on.) Armstrong could definitely win in a few scenarios for certain, and I love the shit out of him. But the boss's wacky powers and arsenal (Like the Black Hole Gun, the Disintegrator which wipes people from existence, and that's just the tip of the iceberg) definitely overwhelm Armstrong more often than not. Looks like Armstrong couldn't strong-arm this politician.
I’d say MENTAL wins this MU honestly, while we’ve seen the capabilities of Zin and his army, MENTAL is on a whole nother level. His army alone would be enough to bring Zin to his knees, his empire wouldn’t be able to withstand it. Especially considering what we’ve seen in SS3&4 especially 4. Zin is capable, but if he couldn’t withstand The Boss, I doubt he could MENTAL. The Boss killed Zin, Sam hasn’t even managed to reach MENTAL yet, granted we keep getting prequels, but still the point still stands. One of them has been defeated before, the other hasn’t, and they’re both fighting people with roughly the same level of capabilities, hell Zin had The Boss trapped in his simulation, something he had control over, even with Kinzie’s help it should have been a complete stomp on Zin’s part, yet he failed. Now I could be missing something, but I don’t believe Zin has anything close to MENTAL’s capabilities, especially not when MENTAL has his labs and all of the conquered planets under his heel. Zin will become just like the rest, just like the Serians before him, a race capable of creating time travel, considered gods by man.

Unfortunately given MK1's gone full cosmic reality-warping and T8 really.. hasn't.. unless we give Kazuya (spoilers) His True Devil form from Tekken 8 from absorbing Azazel, and also directly scaling him to said demon. Even ten I don't think the stats would be fair. Kazuya just doesn't have the skill to outlast the godly Liu Kang.
