Never would have thought of this pairing, but it works perfectly. Both yearning for freedom, both willing- even eager -to turn on those who have confined them to their roles, both with their own agendas that run counter to the mad bastards above them in the hierarchy who are seeking to reshape the world(s) in their image... and while both technically contributed to the downfall of their respective mad bastards, neither got to deal the finishing blow, only setting up others to finish the story instead. Yeah, this pairing rocks.

Did not expect an mtg character to get involved. I look forward to the Vraska vs Vriska fight then (semi-joking).

Ok, Howl of Freedom is definitely a cool title. Also MGR just keeps getting more matchups, that game really has a lot of fans huh.

This isn’t the first time I think about this: it has to be REAL dawn hard for Brandon to come up with new beats that don’t sound the same. You get me? I constantly has to mix things up so music don’t sound the same/get repetitive, especially for characters that have similar themes to previous ones

Man this track art looks cool, fitting for the second MTG track we get. But poor Blade Wolf dying even in the track art is both sad and funny at the same time (and yes, there's the MGR:R slash-square-whatever on Urabrask too but it's less noticeable than Blade Wolf just getting impalled so it's funny). Also, yet another MGR:R matchup for sure is interesting. MGR:R OST pretty much doesn't need introduction anymore so when I first saw the matchup I fully expected something good but I for sure was wondering how the MTG side of things would be implemented and, gotta say, in the end I think both sides mix quite well. The mix of pure electronic and metal music with a more orchestral side is really good-sounding with tons of appreciable melodies all throughout the song that add a lot of personality to it. Now I may be getting ahead of myself when saying that but it does feel like the track's gonna receive vocals at some point which does mean that it suffers from the "track that's going to receive vocals" syndrome of lacking really full standout segments and some segments do feel a tiny bit monotone (IE: 2:16-2:37) but really that's pretty nitpicky of me as in general the track manages to stand really well on its own as a really catchy and cool metal/electronic song. Hell, I'd even go as far as to say that the track absolutely sounds amazing at points even despite that. Most of the song post 2:37 for example stands out massively due to how the melodies and instruments are implemented and mesh together which makes it extremely appreciable even if the aforementioned syndrome is still somewhat heard. The only moment where I do feel like the syndrome is a bit too present would be the very ending starting at 4:20 but even then it's not too bothersome as it still fits the track as a whole given it makes the ending feel much more brutal and violent as it would be if the fight were to actually happen so even then I can't fault the track for it. Overall this track is one that I'd say is relatively standard by Brandon Yates standard but that'd feel like making it some disservice as, while it isn't ground breaking, it already stands out plenty well on its own and, if it is to actually get vocals as I suspect it will, it has some absolutely massive potential for it which makes me really look forward to it. Also, while I somewhat skimmed over the track as a whole because I don't have much time to write my review today, I must still emphasize how good the song is as a whole. The entire track feels really catchy and fitting of the matchup by being mixing melodic and brutal segments just well enough to feel dynamic and appreciable to listen to as a whole. Amazing job with this as always.

Cool to see some Magic: The Gathering MUs. I used to play Arena all the time before t it got too much of a grind to get anything worth playing against a sea of people paying a lot of money to just stick to using the same meta decks over and over, but it's cool that the lore aspect of it is being looked at.
