Camped in the Super Bloom! Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

I visit Anza-Borrego Desert State Park for the super bloom. I get a super, free campsite in a field of flowers and I enjoy each morning with the thousands of butterflies that are migrating through.
I headed over to the Anza-Borrego Badlands and Font's Point to watch the sunrise over the Salton Sea. After a morning cup of coffee, I head out on a sandy desert road to find a beautiful field of flowers I could see from my campsite. It was probably about 5 or so miles away and when I got there, there were only a few other people there. I just wandered through the flowers for over an hour. Then I headed back to make dinner. I love Indian food so I made a little veggie Tikka Masala.
The butterflies and flowers are so amazing, I didn't want to leave. But it was starting to get hot. But before I left, I went and hiked Palm Canyon. That's coming up in my next video! ;-)

You have steadily risen to become one of my favorite outdoors videographers, your work keeps getting better. Love the drone passing over, great editing too. Of course, being out in such surroundings, it's hard to go wrong. It seems you could point your camera in any direction and capture a winner.

VANgazmic Voyage if you would go back and see some of her videos you would be amazed at the footage she has done. Bec in my opinion has done some outstanding work and has captured some incredible shots that you think you were watching a movie. I have been watching her for sometime now and think she is awesome.

My husband & I made our way down to Anza-Borrego during the time that you were there. It was stunning display of flowers. The butterflies (Painted Ladies) were plentiful. The scent of some of the flowers was magical. You are right. There is nothing better than drinking a cup of coffee while looking out at the landscape. Ahhh... truly paradise.

It’s not often that I get to see Ocotillo in bloom! The plants in the desert are in a frenzy to get pollinated and grow seeds for the next time the rains come...I remember about 20 years ago being in Joshua Tree for a super bloom! The butterflies were in the millions! Just like now for you, Bex! What a bountiful time! So breathtakingly beautiful! So glad that you’re there, and shaing this with us! The night shots at the end reminds me of when I camped in AZ years ago...I was blown away by how many more stars you can see out west. I live in NH and the night sky is beautiful but doesn't compare to the southwest!! Loving your videos!

I used to live in Texas, and every spring the wild flowers and especially the cactus and yucca's bloom were breathtaking. When the bluebonnets and mexican poppies take over the landscape, it is so beautiful. Your photography is the best of all the RU-vidrs Bex. You have really come a long way. Congratulations.

You definitely have my vote for the one to follow. I have a small Casita also and just purchased it last summer. Have not been out as much as I would like, YET. I am a single traveler also but a 'bit' older than you, not that that makes a diff. My heart is ready to go full-time. Your videos have made me get that desire big time; Thanks. I've been a full-timer before, with a partner and a BIG 5th-wheel, so I'm experienced. Can't wait to do this my way. I'll bet we see each other along the way.

I love your videos. You and Slim Potatohead have the greatest skills in filming gorgeous destinations. Thank you for showcasing this amazing rare event..the Super Bloom. You might also think to travel to the western prairies in summertime,- there is nothing more gorgeous than prairie summer blooms, and they are annual! The colors include blue, red, magenta and purple, depending on time of summer. Way more colorful then even the super bloom. My fave vids if yours...California, Yosemite, etc. big tall trees, Mountains etc. and those aggressive elk! Yes!

This brings back memories of my Childhood, we used to go camping there and at the Salton sea. I've been to the bottom of the bad lands in a Dune Buggy best ever, kinda of Eerie but fun, there are places you are driving up the sides of the hills in sand and no flat area's. If you could get someone to take you out there in a Dune Buggy that is the best way, quite different view! Maybe you could rent a dune Buggy I don't know. Wow, the dunes are really fun experience. Thanks. Love all those butterflies everywhere! I guess every flower needs a butterfly kiss! Nice.
