Agree .. Paint or wallpaper to cover the black around the window ❤❤ Stay patient .. Trust me, rushing screws up something, which can effect everything .. Lol 😂
Oh, Michele! The ups and downs of the van build. It's coming along and it'll be done soon and we can all look back and comment how marvelous it has all turned out . . . but before then, just take deep breaths and remember, we're all in this together. I'd like for you to have it done by the time I get up there, please! No breaks! Get back to work!
You did a good job considering the challenges! Your space looks so much brighter. I think the main problem with the side ceiling panels is that there needs to be a frame for the panels to drill into. A professional contractor should be able to frame it out, then insulate and then create a boxed panel without any gaps to hide all the wiring. I’m not an expert but I’ve watched a lot of videos on van build outs. Hopefully you’ll find someone trustworthy. Maybe in the van life community?
It’s coming along beautifully especially considering the mess carpenter dude left! When you started painting, it seemed you were in your happy space. Can hardly wait for the finish! I know it will be perfect!❤❤❤
Who knew the gardener would do a better job than the carpenter! I did breathe a sigh of relief when I started painting. I can’t wait to see yours finished, too!!! 😊❤️
Take the stuff with you and do a bit each day instead of rushing it. And the back window looks fine, it will prove an asset when it's hot, you will pretty it up
Good morning. I think the rear window? It’s trick!!! I like. As for the work that’s being done? There will always be setbacks and issues. Overall it’s coming along and looks great. Keep at it and keep us informed? You look absolutely beautiful and give your doggie a kiss from me.. and love her every second of the day.
Such a bumpy start! But, my goodness, it's looking so good!!! I hope your current trip is fun and you're able to get the work done when you get back home. ❤
It is going to be good to have air flow with that new back window. Of course you can always paint the black, the same colour of the doors, not to attract the attention to it…and maybe nice simple transparent curtains ( voile) ? Your van is coming along great! It’s hard to be patient when things don’t go the way we want. The entire ceiling of my minivan came in black, I tried to cover it with fabric, it looked worse. Wish you fulfilling days ahead!
Oh my goodness 😳 These van upgrades sure keep us busy and use up our money, but we're not guaranteed it will even work out! I'm just glad to have some fresh air in the back now 😊
I am SOOO doing a no build! I know what its like getting anyone to anything and especially to do it right. I have been having my 2003 dodge van "fixed" for a year and a half. 14000 later, yeah you heard it right...5000 for the van, I knew not to!!!!, and 9000 in repairs to the mechanical issues Next..a front end! Only 2000.😂❤
Hi Debbie! I was worried about that, too. I checked and didn't see any issues with the structure, but he messed up the frame on my maxx air fan, so I'll need to fix that at some point.
I feel your pain. It's hard to find people to do quality work!! What kind of insulation did you use on your ceiling? Also, does your Max Fan run off of your van battery?
I just grabbed a roll of cheap insulation at Home Depot. Not sure what kind it is. My Maxx air fan runs off a power station. Even tho I have electrical, I love my power stations! 🤣
I had a plan once it didn’t go as planed either, so now i have a new plan, to just go with the flow seems to be working out so far. On another note you sure construction dude main construction ability’s wasn’t only pushing wheel barrows around in a construction site maybe once when his mom told him to, 😂the gardeners accomplished more than construction dude, now thats saying something. Almost wish i could help but i am way to busy myself, almost to busy to even watch this vid and reply. Back to me getting busy have safe travels.
This is the most hilarious comment 🤣 😂 Nah I've seen carpenter dudes actual work on actual houses, and it's nice! He must have forgotten his skills, tho!
How frustrating for you. That carpenter guy was just not trustworthy; I hope you didn't pay him in advance. It would be so much better if you had an actual van building company to do everything for you, all at one time, and they were qualified, experienced, and you didn't end up with something janky. Piecemeal doesn't seem to be the best way, from what I can tell. Anyway, good luck with the rest of your build!
I can sense you are overwhelmed. Why don't you invest, one time, a professional and get your home back. The more you rely on non professionals, the greater the delay. You have to be tired. Why not give yourself some love.
