How much does it cost to rent a campervan? What is included in that cost? It varies from outfit to outfit, but I go and visit Highland Auto Campers at Muir of Ord near Inverness in Scotland to see what they include in the hire of their Auto Campers vans. In this video I show you what to expect when renting a campervan. I also ask how much does it cost to rent a campervan for the weekend, and you'll be surprised that it's not as expensive as you might think.

I can personally vouch for the Duvalay’s. You certainly do need them in your life. My wife, son and myself all have a Duvalay each and they’ve transformed our sleeping comfort in the caravan 😊

Nice well informed video,I love the whole idea of camper vans,I’ve done one or two conversions in the past,on completion of my first,wich was a high top long wheel base transit,the day after I finished,we went to the Isle of Skye,such a wonderful place,had plenty of fishing,cooking them straight from the sea,hiking and climbing the Cullen hills,out of this world mountain range,with fantastic views,the interior of the van was the furnishings from an old caravan,I paid 150 for it and stripped it myself,the cooker water pump heater all worked fine,well as of next week we are moving to Aberdeen,and I can’t wait,happy camping chaps,🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍👍👍

I met them earlier in the year and did an interview with them before we went in our autocamper which we bought 12 months ago - we got the duck egg blue to - they are really caring and deliver a great service - great way to try campervan out in my opinion. Nice video Andrew

Well done Andrew and Dougal another brilliant video. What a lovely couple and excellent that every thing is provided in their super camper vans. I was surprised at the price, excellent value for money. The icing on the cake would be duvalay quilts and pillows. Perfect for the novice camper, it would certainly give you a very clear idea of what type of van you may be looking to buy in the future. They’re are based in a lovely area to start your campervan adventures. Not to far from there are the seaboard villages of Balintore and Shandwick where you can see the Pictish stone and the watch the dolphins swimming off shore in the Moray Firth. I spent every summer of my childhood there which is just beautiful. Just a short drive further north is Dunrobin fairytale castle and the amazing beaches of Brora. Good wishes to you both and hope that your business is very successful. Thank you Andrew and Dougal. Missing Scotland already and I have only been but back a week. Thank you Andrew and Dougal. 🐶 .

A fully equipped van to rent. That's a great opportunity if you're traveling there by plane and cannot bring all the stuff with you. Fair enough pricing. And the service sounds really great. Wish them all the best for their business. They seem very friendly.

It doesn't have a loo, so no use to me, I'm sure your caravan does. Just my opinion but I'm lucky enough to have both, we much prefer the caravan in the UK and the motorhome abroad.

Ha ha ! last year the warden at Culloden said that she had seen the dolphins at Chanonry point and they had been there for the last few nights. Three hours later and cup of tea getting cold nothing . So even pretending I was going to leave whilst looking over my shoulder, not even a fin. So Dougal my dear dog it was not just you. Kind wishes Pamela

Hi Olaf, we are watching developments with hybrid Transit Customs with interest.... In the short term there might be challenges with charging points in the highlands, and the batteries may pose a problem for the water tanks which are fitted under the van... But hopefully in the future they would be a viable option 😊

Mr Ditton sir, can I ask as question relating to the Adria Supreme SLB please, you said in your video that the bedroom was gloomy because of the air con unit which I could see from the video itself but can I ask do you think albeit not from your travels in chilly Scotland but do you think the use of the air con unit might outweigh the gloominess for normal summer months in the UK and Europe? Best regards and keep up the excellent work from one of many of your subscribers

Sir? Have I been knighted by the Queen? ;@) (But it's far more polite than 'oi, mush!) It's a personal thing David... I think as summers get hotter, and if you plan on spending them in the South of England or further South in Europe, then Aircon would probably be a Godsend. Not quite so useful in the Hebrides!

Great way to try out a camper van without having to purchase it. They seem like a nice couple and the vans come fully stocked. What about having a license to drive a van? Is that not needed?

As long as you have a normal car driving license you can drive one of these as they are under 3500kg maximum gross weight so no issues there

Oh wow that is awesome that you can rent these, we have friends that come over from Australia for the whole of September in my hobby they pay for hotels every single night plus car hire this would be amazing for them and we could all tour Scotland :) bonus so how much would it be for a whole month in September? Dougles is smiling from the inside :)

Ha! On their website it is £120 per night for a minimum of 3 nights. A big, big difference compared to the prices stated in the video ... We won't be hiring. - Very misleading...

Mustn’t forget the £500 security deposit and also the £15 per hour cleaning charge if you leave things dirty. So if you’ve got a spare £700 a long weekend is alright - or you could get abroad for £700

Why would you want to go abroad - Scotland is one of the largest growing tourist destinations in the world (and its really annoying as it makes the pubs hyper busy)

Hi Matt - don't forget you get the security deposit back after your trip! Fortunately the vans always come back spotless, so we haven't had to charge a cleaning fee yet... 😊

Aliciad76 Playing playing devil‘s advocate, as I do as a community worker.... if they don’t have 500 quid to put down a deposit, as many normal everyday people do not, that puts them at a disadvantage over those with the cash or credit cards etc. Most of the people I work with pay for their holiday over a period of months. Something to think about if you are planning to make these truly accessible to everybody.
