This video looks at the Willingdon Beach Campground, run by the city of Powell River, BC. Anne and I camped there for 2 weeks in October 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed the forested campsite, beach, and ocean views. Willingdon Beach Website - willingdonbeach.com/

Funny enough my family and I camp on site 62 with friends next to us in 61 every summer. We have been going for 6 years and absolutely love it. Tons of trails locally and close enough to shops should the need arise. The sunsets are amongst the best I have seen and the campsite itself is actually really quiet and serene considering it is right in town. 10/10 for us and would highly recommend to everyone.

I hope you got to see many whales and dolphins and enjoyed our incredible sunsets, I absolutely love going down to willingdon and like to go on that trail every weekend as well as some of the other close by ones, I hope you had the opportunity to cross the street and get some ice-cream from putters before the closed for the winter.

The putting place was already all closed up when we were there early October.

Hey Ray❤️🙋‍♀️🇨🇦‼️ Another Amazing Video❤️🇨🇦‼️Gotta love this beauty we live in eh!? And now the much needed rain has come, such a dry summer and fall! Our BW guests have slowed down even, were pretty much solid from May to Sept! I bought a Trail Camera and been catching some critters with it! We have been across 5 provinces 2x🤪🏕🚙⛽️⛽️⛽️, 22,000km, so now that we're home, I'm binge watching your primo content! 👍🏼🏆❤️🇨🇦‼️

Can you believe this incredibly warm weather we're having here on the south coast? It's not normal. I'm still mowing my lawn every 5 days in shorts and a t-shirt. It's supposed to get cooler with rain next week. I suspect you are getting ready to get across the boarder soon. Cheers!

Yeah, its pretty freaky, not good for the animals and plants I gather. Salmon ae having a tough time getting to spawning grounds with low water levels. :(

You have captured the essence of the Powell River waterfront and this campground beautifully. Your lovely images make me homesick for a place I called home 20 years ago. You're absolutely right, this campground is a hidden gem, as are the people of Powell River. Ann did a terrific job with the underwater images; it was a nice and interesting touch. The people of Powell River will be happy that you took the time and effort to put this together. Well done, Ray! I really like your videos.

Hey, love the video. What is the weather like in the winter time?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
Doable in an RV but not that fun, lots of rain/wet/wind and occasional snow. But one of the mildest places to winter in Canada. Check this website for averages. weatherspark.com/y/354/Average-Weather-in-Powell-River-Canada-Year-Round Cheers, Ray

Great video Ray! Question: Earlier in the year you mentioned that Lion Energy was going to give you a newer and more advanced battery to test. Have there been any updates on that?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
Not yet, I inquired in August and was told likely be out in 2 months. Maybe they are running into supply chain issues like many other companies. At least that's my guess. I've been using the new batteries just fine but without the Bluetooth app that they will have.

Thanks for sharing. Like #13. Is the only way to this area via ferry? How much does it cost with your trailer and how long is the ferry ride?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
Yes, you need to take 2 ferries to get there from the BC mainland or one from Vancouver Island. Prices vary depending on the ferry routes used. For example, we took the ferry from Comox on Vancouver Island, and 45 feet one way cost $200, including reservation fee and taxes. 1 1/2 hour trip. See the previous video about the ferry trip here - www.loveyourrv.com/beautiful-views-from-aboard-bc-ferry-salish-orca-comox-to-powell-river/ Cheers, Ray

Are pets allowed on many trails in Canadian parks, provincial or private? I guess it is about 50/50 in the US.
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
They are in most parks, just have to have them on a leash for the most part. There are some areas that are protected wildlife or environmentally sensitive areas that have no dog allowed signs.
