Make sure you watch till the end if you want to see THE MOST Australian thing ever! We had to give way to boxing kangaroos!
We left the beautiful Snowy Mountains and headed north for some more adventure and camping. Wombeyan Caves has been on Moniques bucket list for the longest time and we finally got there!
Unfortunately due to the fires and current pandemic, the Limestone Gorge walk and the guided cave tours were closed (but that just means we will have to go back).
We show you around the campground and we explore the self guided Fig Tree Cave.
This campground is so well equipped and is home to HUNDREDS of kangaroos. Its well worth a visit and would be a fantastic destination for families.

As always, please feel welcome to ask any questions, let us know what you think. Have you been to Wombeyan caves?

great video, thanks. May i ask - was it an easy "awd" route? Any Subaru's there? Or do you need a "proper" 4wd?
@Vinceventuring
@Vinceventuring 2 года назад
@@shanechenery7261 we came from Goulburn and the road was a normal paved road the whole way in. Any car could get here. I think there is another way in but when we went that was was closed because the road was damaged.

Great video of the area. Used to venture down there as a kid often. You are very lucky to see the water running through the Fig Tree Cave as it was always a rare event.

Nice one! That walk through cave looked amazing and just a casually biff between a couple of the natives 🦘🦘!! 😁

I feel like in the dark light the camera didn’t do it justice but it was absolutely spectacular in the cave. The boxing kangaroos was so funny! We couldn’t believe we were giving way to kangaroos having a fight in the middle of the road! Australia🤣

Those kangaroos follow you everywhere you go. I think they like you, or they like your treats. Incidentally, love the periodic birdsongs. They really add atmosphere. Cheers guys 👍

This is such amazing feedback Chris. Thank you so much. There is something daunting about talking to a camera to imaginary people haha. We are enjoying making these videos and learning as we go. So so glad you have been enjoying them too!

That cave is unreal! That's like a mansion compared to the caves we've been to. The boxing kangaroos are hilarious. I've seen a guy online literally boxing a kangaroo. I thought you all would box one 😆

I can’t wait to go through a few more caves there. So beautiful. We couldn’t not believe we were giving way to boxing kangaroos 😂 they were huge too, I don’t think we would have been game to get out of the car! Thanks so much for watching ❤️

I will admit, I was pretty sad we couldn’t do limestone gorge. We have been wanting to do that hike for such a long time. We will just have to go back though. Definitely a place I would like to visit again ❤️

Hi guys, loved you video, I went here with a bushwalking group the year before the fires and the other walk to limestone gorge was awesome although because of prior drought water level was only low, not really swimming level but still beautiful. If you ever go back the gorge is worth the additional trip. At the opposite end theres whats left of the karst quarry and further on a small waterfall as well which is another option to check out. When the weather improves I hope to take the kids camping there. Cheers 👍

It's a pity that NSWParks does not mention wheelchair access on this site or other caving sites. It took me 2 hours of searching to find out there is very little access for the disabled. It is unfortunate that it is no use for me to travel 2-3 hours and $20-30 to look at 2 minutes of caves.
@Vinceventuring

Gosh that is really slack of NSW NP. I really hope with some of the upgrades they have been doing in many areas there is more that is wheelchair accessible and make the information on it east to find for those that need it. If you are ever in the blue mountains the fairfax heritage walk is wheelchair accessible and comes out at a gorgeous lookout.

Hope you do the Abercrombie caves but they are closed till June/july because of the recent flooding apparently the worst in 70 years. :(
@Vinceventuring
@Vinceventuring 2 года назад
I think we missed the flooding by about 2 weeks. I actually think this spot would be amazing in winter, nice crackling fires. The facilities make it so easy and comfy. I hope when it opens up that all the walks and caves are open too. I feel like theres so much we didn't get to explore.
